Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| what a difference a few games make, since your performance against the tigers, things have gone rather sour. a lot of people got carried away saying calland was the bees knees and fax to be fast tracked in to super league, dear oh dear.

She carries on through it all......
She's a Waterfall: |
|
| like the "house of pain" tag used by Donny a few seasons ago - the "country mile" comment, a throw away comment that it was, has served to fire up opposition players when playing fax and has been used by coaches as part of a match build up talk!!!! - well 2 coaches that I know of at least, but I'm told more!!
Now I know such comments doesn't encourage a team to collapse like a pack of cards, but it is one illustration at least of Callands naivety when making public comments likely to have a negative effect on tthe club!!!

| After watching that collapse I can safely say we won't win another match this season. Absolute garbage. We have completely run out of steam. Sheffield looked fresh right up to the last minute. Frustrating.. So frustrating.

| Why do we constantly underachieve and fail to deliver when it matters? I'd rather play at a constant level throughout the season and build towards the playoffs then suuffer the indignation of the lst few weeks. Calland should do the honourable thing and hand Rhino the keys to his office.

| to be honest we thought we were better than we are, after smashing batley, donny leigh we thought we are unbeatable but the facts are 4 games against 4 playoff teams and we have been shown up for the lack of heart and spirit the team has. things go wrong in a game and nobody puts their hand up to dig the team out of trouble and before u no it, its game over.
the comeback on sunday masked wat was the worst display by a fax team in many a year.
the whole squad from MC right down to the water carriers have a lot to answer for, we keep saying we have to sort for next week but really do this time cos if appear on tv performing like recent efforts its going to be very ugly

The signs were there when we played you at the rec 3 months ago.
5 1st teamers out for us, 2 others playing 1st full game. You blew us away for first 30 mins, we outplayed you in 2nd half and deserved at least a draw.
Mr Calland has lulled you all ( including players according to your own fans) in thinking that you are invincible.
I hope you do come good for the playoffs as I would love a Haven/Fax final.
We are stsrting to come good at right time 6/6 with only 2 1st team injuries now.
Interesting finale'

| I haven't criticised Matt Calland up to now, though I do agree with many of the less positive things being said given recent events.
What, however, irked me last Sunday was the way he just strolled across the pitch at half-time as though everything was hunky-dory with his team and there was no urgent need to deliver his instructions for the second half. After all, we were only 34 - 10 down at home to one of our main rivals!
It didn't send out to me, as a fan, an impression that he was that concerned about the sorry state of affairs. What sort of message it sent out to the team I cannot imagine though not a good one in my view. Having said that, though, Fax nearly stole the game at the end but how much of that was down to the coach or to other factors can only be guessed at.
Yes, like someone has already suggested, Karl Harrison would probably be the best person to knock the current, and yes - talented, squad into shape, but Calland is contracted for two more years and, no doubt, Harrison is also contracted at Batley.
The next few weeks are going to be very interesting.

| Watching the Barrow -v- Widnes match tonight I'm afraid to say that's how you do a job .... Barrow in their own back yard protecting top spot they tackled like lions and played their hearts out - they were never gonna lose against Widnes tonight. Contrast that with the exact same situation last Sunday when we were protecting top spot. My prediction is an all Cumbrian Grand Final.

After this 'strolling across the pitch' didnt the team put on a great second half showing?

| NO just played for the final 15 minutes after the worst 65mins I can remember. Whitehaven just switched off and lost momentum.
