Cant fault the commitment & effort unfortunately let down by a lack of composure in attack I see Brian Noble is now whingeing about travel costs !! Shame

I thought the ref was fine and it was a fair result.
We missed Grix, Tangata and Fleming, i think we could have won with them, but alas, it wasn’t to be.
Top effort from the lads though, did themselves proud and should take positives that hard work can push anyone close. Some great last ditch defence from Toronto probably flattered them a bit.

The consolation with this defeat is that Toronto will be out of the Championship. Noticed Noble whinging yet again. Oh so sorry Brian that the RL aren't bending back for you guys. Sport = Level playing field = alternate home and away. So so so stupid having a Canadian team in our domestic league. I really despair

I thought the Ref was fine. He made the odd mistake but so does everyone. It was great to actually have a super league ref for a change.I wonder why anyone would want to be a ref. You just get stick and clearly they aren't trying to get it wrong.

The better team won. Yes they niggled, slowed the game down and generally used all the tricks but Fax didn't have the ability to score. It was a good effort and on a different day could have gone a different way but on balance it was at least a ten point ball game.

The question I have to ask is, could any of the Toronto side make it in Super league if they qualify. I would have to say no. They are a collection of either over the hill or fringe super league players, Toronto will have to recruit a whole new side.

I was sitting in the East stand and I have to say some of the stuff from the crowd was an embarrassment to Halifax, A few hysterical old ladies clearly had no concept of the rules. There was a constant anti ref tirade, class comments as "hit him", "pull his hair" and a load more I'd expect to see at a 1970's wrestling match. They told the ref to stop the clock when the scrum wasn't formed, accused him of wasting time when the clock was stopped and had clearly never heard of the free play by the way they screamed at the players when they kicked on one.

It was just really really cringey.

The ref penalised Toronto off the park in the first half - then they changed tactics, stopped chelping at him and just ground us down the middle.

Great effort, but missing Grix in the attack obviously blunted us in prising open the best last line defence I have seen - I would expect them to get promotion based on a defence like that if they don't run out of players first.

We heard Nobby complaining about travel before the match - who would have thought travel from toronto would be a logistics nightmare....

No they have not. Fans have just been warned to keep their behaviour in check. Every team has idiot fans and the club are just trying to nip it in the bud early on which you can't really blame them for.

Fair enough just read it on a facebook status that a fine as been issued regarding the chants at the ref e.g we know where you live

Very much all this,the plaudits for effort/defence all well and good but it masks the fact that with the ball we were simply AWFUL.

I think they were just warning fans that it were possible we could get in trouble. Atmosphere is great but they just need to cut out the daft stuff, its not football.

As for the chants against the ref, you must be joking. "All we want is a decent referee", etc is soft stuff, is it not?

Wasn't deafening at far end of East where we were 'attacking' second half.

Talking of the East Stand, that's the fullest I've seen it for ages. I thought the crowd looked well over 2k so was surpised at 1,774. But thank god we're not in the Shield ...... Leigh got 2.6k and Fev 1.2k.
