| Blackpool:-This isn't my favourite place, Bradford by the sea, but for those who are going a bit of legwork might just get you a decent session. There are four 'spoons in Blackers, all of which have the usual decent ale/food on. The Auctioneer near to Bloomfield Road is on the list of Wetherspoons to close so a word of warning there. In the centre The Pump & Truncheon on Bonny Street behind Tussauds is a good old fashioned pub with up to six ales on at any one time. If you want a pub with sport on tv The Rose & Crown on Corporation Street, close to the Grand Theatre, has Thwaites on and one changing guest beer. Food is served all day in here and children are allowed in to eat. Enjoy your ale, enjoy the match.

Pete, we usually start off at "The Albert and lion" it's always best to let the Peaky blinders get their rendition of "wan:ey wan:ey Halifax" in early.
Rather like the top floor of "The velvet coaster".
Pub behind Yates think it's "The Star" do bumper meat pies, but no chips.
Have a great weekend you and all Rugby Fans.

A voice of sense I know the Albert and the Lion, and the Velvet Coaster,I met a lot of Fax fans last year in the Swift Hound near Bloomfield Road, should be a great week end , supposedly good weather, good rugby , great Fans , plenty of Banter, bring it on.

| Whitehaven:-Another trip to Cumberland this weekend and let's hope the weather is better than our last visit! They've spent some brass on the town centre in the last few years, especially down by the harbour and it is here you will find The Bransty Arch (W). A decent enough 'spoons with a good selection of ales on usually including some local beers. On Lowther Street is The Vagabond which regularly has some of the best reviews ale wise in the town. As you leave the centre and head up towards the ground, The Conservative Club on Marlborough Street always has one decent hand pull on, I am reliably informed. Not a teal ale stronghold but if you can look around you can get some good supping done in 'haven. Enjoy your ale, enjoy the match.

| Dewsbury:-A trip here wouldn't be complete without visiting The West Riding Refreshment Rooms. This multi award winning pub on Dewsbury railway station has a host of real ales on and is a must visit. On Webster Hill you will find The Shepherd's Boy, an Ossett pub which was refurbished a couple of years ago. The Leggers on the marina is a great pub which was once a hayloft above stables! An excellent choice of well kept ales in here. In the centre of town The Time Piece is a typical Wetherspoon pub. Up near the ground is The Huntsman, a country pub with a couple of real ales on and panoramic views. Enjoy your ale, enjoy the match.

| Bradford:-Bradford has probably the most improved real ale scene around at the moment. Near the ground the suburb of Wibsey has a host of pubs. If you are a devotee of the recent wave of micro pubs Hoopers is a new one worth a look on the high street. Tucked away on Slack Bottom Road is a nice little traditional pub, The Gaping Goose. A two roomer with 3/4 handpumps in here. If you are going by the city centre, outside the interchange is Jacobs, Bradford CAMRA Pub of the Year. Nine ales to pick from in here! The new area to seek out in Bradford is North Parade where a number of new bars have opened recently, the pick of which is The Sparrow Bier Café, excellent in here. A ten minute walk from here will take you to Bolton Road where the long established and possibly best pub in the city is The Corn Dolly. This is basically an open plan pub with a great range of well kept ales. You won't go far wrong in here. Enjoy your ale, enjoy the match.

| Swinton:-Unfortunately Swinton's present home in Sale is a real ale desert. If going by train and having a couple in Manchester The Port St Beer house on Port Street near Piccadilly station is a handy place for seven real ales to be found. A bit pricey but you are in Manchester. A short walk to The Arndale Centre will take you to the Micro Bar in the market section. This place is brilliant. Owned by Boggart Clough Brewery there's four pumps to choose from. What makes this place stand out is that it's surrounded by stalls selling food from all around the world. Get your jock, order a pint and sit down and watch the world go by. If going by car The Sedge Lynn (W) in nearby Chorlton-cum-Hardy is one of the best 'spoons around. This Art Deco pub is well worth a visit. On to Sale now and J.P. Joule on Northenden Road is the local Wetherspoons. Plenty to choose from in here but nowt much else to shout about in Sale itself. Enjoy your ale, enjoy the match.

Pete ,for me Swinton ground is very nice if the weather is good , as a teetotaller I'm no help on beers but the J.P Joule does decent meals, inside the ground they charge 2 quid a pint, but there are only 2 Porto cabins behind the Stand as toilet facilities, good luck tomorrow.I'm about to don my Dinner Suit and Dickie, as I have a Charity Night to attend tonight at the DW Stadium in Wigan..Hope to see you next Sunday.
