We could perhaps sponsor the crossbars on the posts and simply have the web address across it?

Or we could sponsor the ball boys/girls or maybe when we are on SKY we have one of those banner things that the team destroys when they burst through it?

I like this idea I am all for thinking out of the box and geting something differant going. The club already do a man of the match and market it quite sucsessfully so we need something they don`t do. Some time ago we used to do a "Champagne Moment" where we would pick out a moment in the match that was something special we did not give the player champagne we gave them money in an envelope we could do something like that and have a draw so 2 tickets were given by the club every match for the after match presentation to award the player with whatever is decided .It also gives another player a chance of winning something if he produces something spectacular in the game without being man of the match.

Sponsor the cheerleaders. Owner of winning draw ticket gets a private dance

Personally, I'm not interested in any of these ideas. This started out as kit sponsorship and has slowly been taken over by these out of the box musings. It is something for the users of this message board so that they can help out the club and have a chance at winning a piece of playing kit; something they can keep. I mean, sponsoring the crossbar or advertising the forum on it. Per-lease.

Sorry to pour scorn on that idea, but I really think it is half-baked. Also, is giving the player a gratuity strictly legal, and not everyone would be able to go into the bar after the game to give it to them. I couldn't. How would the player be voted for during that game?

I'm sorry, but unless there is an alternative idea that EVERYONE likes then we're sticking to the original idea.

It would not hurt however to ask the club if there is uniquie opportunity that involves some playing kit, u never know TS we could end up with more!

i have had a few messages, so thought i would post on here so everyone could see

some of the ideas mentioned have been good and i think a unique sponsorship would be good for both parties.

however we feel that things could be complicated with bar passes and dinning options be given. it would be hard for us to monitor (what if you lose the bar pass, who does it go to at the end of the day etc) and hard for you to choose who gets them for each game (is someone who gives £5 equal to one who gives £50? who gets it for a big game V Widnes etc)

so we want to try and keep it simple with us giving you things that you can raffle (shirts, limited edition pictures, signed balls, hoodies etc)

i have personally mentioned that you could sponsor a full kit and the crowd as the 18th man. the crowd has been sponsored in the past, and it would be relevant for a fans forum to sponsor this.

it also means the forum gets mentioned on the PA and in the programme, so possibly new members

we can then arrange for around 10 items to be donated for your cause (to raffle or do with what you wish) and should overall offer a decent value for money that shouldn't cause too much hassle or potential problems

overall it is up to you guys though, and the club will try and offer you something that you are all happy with. we are more than willing to listen to any ideas that you have.

Well I think the idea of sponsoring the 18th man is a good one too but I will go along with what TS wants.

I know it's early, (t'was the GF only last week), but I'm wondering if there will be enough of us to participate again? TBH, we struggled to get enough participants for a while, and some people had to put in extra to beef up the pot.

Also, IF we do it again, how do we want to choose the kit we wish to sponsor? I know that there will probably be players coming and going for some time yet, but will we want to do a poll for which number we want as players are allocated squad numbers or do you have any other ideas?

I think some of the points rasied are valid, lets keep it simple, 10 or so items to raffel under TS suggested lottery system seem the simplest idea, £5 = 1 ticket £50 = 10 tickets

to me 10 items seems a lot more than 2/3 kits for sharing the prizes out amongst the contributors

I also really like the idea of the message baord getting mentions at home games and in the program, the more members we can get on here the better thre banter and posts!
