| One of my pet hates, Fax tv that is, how the £$%^ are they going to attract a new audience, if the only people that can get good info or any highlights are the ones who went to the game and then pay 3.99 a month.
Hence if you want a decent match review or some highlights, go to the oppositions website.
The club still needs to build bridges and open doors, putting passcodes on doors to very basic stuff is not a great move.
Whoever is driving this policy at the Club JUST STOP, and think, think of your own business and products, do you only show off your product to those that already bought it? FFS

| Me and Mrs LTD attended and I will try pick out the key points:
Modest attendance
Age dempographics of the audience was 50+ as a majority
Full board in attendance except for Ian Croad who is in hospital
Question asked about the Boards plans for the future
key driver in the answer was the funding dictating our plans
Will we go fulltime -back to funding over next couple of season but definitely not at the moment
What happened to the money from 2015 season-Chairman itemised expenditure which accounted for majority of income.Key point was we don't get all at once but in tranches over the season
Plans to sign anybody for end of season. No with current income stream
Confirmation of Luke Ambler's departure but possible return in the future.
Board will not do a 'Bradford' and are literally working from month to month on cashlfow cutting cloth according etc etc.
Happy to talk to anybody out there who can add value to the Board
There will not be another Exec.
New lease been drawn up which will be signed subject to a couple of things
Halved the stewarding costs which were running at £1500 per game.
Who dictates the signings-nobody signed without RM sign off with Ian Croad managing the budget. Only time was when we were post Karl and pre RM-board signed Salty
Plans to market the club better with new 2 Directors on board now.
Can't remember much more as I was on my third pint by then having had no tea so was getting a bit merry
Oh and I won a big box of Milk Tray for Mrs LTD in the raffle
Hope that gives you an insight. LTD

| So we're basically a bit goosed unless we regularly make the top 4 but we don't have the money to invest in the team to make the top 4!

I am afraid to say we are on a spiral to nothing now. You can feel it on the terraces, South stand bar after the match there is about 15 people maximum.
Fax TV pro ( bit Ironic to call it Pro ) has ed me off beyond belief. You can't even listen to the coaches after game interviews without paying £4 a month.
Trying to milk more money from the fans who turn up week in week out is not the way forward!.
I don't have the answers, that's if there are any out there. However I do see us going nowhere and we are taking a hell of a long time to get there.
On the pitch, the boys are starting to do it for each other again and that's refreshing to see again at last

| Dont understand the views on FaxTv. I think its good value, and at least the club are trying another way to bring some income in. Does anyone think a prospective fan is really going to watch a video from a fans forum? Its 4 quid a month FFS. Just have one less pint this month.

| Personally I think the Board were giving us a true indication of what we already know. Declining attendances and RFL funding puts us under pressure to control costs accordingly or go bust. We dont have a Koukash, Beaumont or Davey so we simply not going to be able to go out and buy top players and go full time etc.
Time to roll our sleaves up both on and off the field, grasp the reality of the situation, and help where we can methinks.
At least we have a solvent club and an opportunity to grow over time.

The problem is not asking fans who pay £20 to pay another 3.99 instead of having another pint, its about trying to get new fans to the ground and showing the product to people you want to come watch live.
Let's say FAX TV costs 40k and brings in 40k, breaking even, box ticked, the club is online and available to anyone with a spare 3.99.
Oh hang on........ what's the point of it? Does it actually bring in any new fans, does it actually reach anyone but a few hardy fans who cough up? Looking at our attendances, despite improving performances, were on a spiral down.
Maybe the club doesn't have a spare 40k and it just needs the dam thing to break even, and is trying to keep happy the loyal few who pay.
My argument is too many people I know who used to watch Fax may come back if they could get to see a bit more of the product online, that 40k could produce ROI. A snippet of an Adam Tangata try on FB loop is neither here nor there.
And, in amongst all the fake news, which celebrity is splitting up and how to make Brownie from a Creme egg and stale loaf, does the Fax message get across to potential customers, I'd have to say its a resounding no, possibly the age of the board is at fault here, give kids the choice of Fire TV, free movies and Sport or XBox Fifa playing their mates, and I reckon they will keep their 3.99 and watch el classico.
Sorry, but Fax TV is not maximising its potential.
We're not Real Madrid, so chuck that model in the recycle bin, and empty!

| Actually the aim should be to grow customer base, but also find new ways to increase revenues for existing customers. It doesnt have to a zero sum game. Charging for fax tv is definitive income, right here and now. Not speculative 'might bring in new supporters'. How many did it bring in before? And as for costs, by charging they can cover costs, and then repurpose the content for attract new supporters. Best of both worlds.
If somethings got value, dont give it away for free.
Attracting new fans needs a wide ranging approach, the start would be making the shay a friendlier place to come (like they are doing on sunday). But this needs to be a consistent effort, not just a one off.
Have my sympathies for the club. Trying their best to keep the club in a healthy state against a backdrop of waning interest across the game as a whole. And when they do get someone new to the game they havent to listen to dross like 'hes got a pineapple....'

| The idea that that if the content on Fax Tv was available for free it would bring in loads of new fans is laughable at best. Our crowds have been quite consistent in comparison to how the team is performing on the field and despite all of this media been available for free up until lately we have shown no increase in attendances.
It leaves the question how do you attract new supporters to a game that even its own fans do not like?

GFB, your having a laugh surely? Basic principle, ney fundamentals of advertising! How the hell can you sell your product if you don't let anyone see it or put it out there in the shop window? Ever heard of speculate to accumulate? I'm guessing because the club is skint they are simply trying to cover the costs whilst ticking an online/media box.
We are not in the late 80's now, where there was little live sport on TV, and there's nobody dropping round the pubs of Calderdale with tickets or game cards, we are in an online age, and people will not pay for something if they watch something for free elsewhere.
Our season ticket sales may have been consistent, if not showing a slow decline, but I assure you there are less people paying on the day than for a good few years.
OK I get it, 3.99 isn't a lot, but jeez were talking semi professional sport, were being charged 20 quid on the door, to watch semi professionals. We are competing with multi billion pound sports, there's zero chance of beating or competing with them at this game. FB loops, twitter feeds and a glimpse of what you could watch if you pay 3.99 just wont cut it.
I'm telling you, they've got this one wrong, if were in SL, well have highlights on Sky TV. 3.99 to watch some bloke stumbling through a sports hall interview with Richard, and asking questions like 'Did our smarts let us down?'
We've now got all our eggs in one basket, Richard Marshall, he's a superb coach too, but if he wanders off somewhere, we are well and truly goosed.... fresh coffee?

| I've posted a few times about this. When Fax TV was free it was variable in quality and also in timing in terms of availability. £3.99 in itself isn't a lot, and tbh I'd consider a one-off if circumstances dictated (such as being on hols). £3.99 over 12 months is £48 (except a few pennies). That feels more significant.
I've been told we have a "healthy" subscription to Fax TV, but I'm not sure what that means in terms of actual numbers. For around £10 a year I'd consider it, but whether 4-5 times as many would join me at that price I'm not sure?
To slightly contradict myself, if we had content available far quicker (same day) with 100% reliability, then there would definitely be a market. If I could reliably watch games that I couldn't get to the same evening the game was played, then I'd be very happy to stump up £3.99 a month.
