If someone entered my property even in the garden for no reason they would get knocked clean out. In this case Sam just intimidated him

He won't get sent down but may get banned for refusing the drugs test what could have been done at training or before or after a game

Steve look at the thread on Ross Divorty. There is lots of love for him and rightly so. Penky and Bob Beswick get no stick from over here as do most other ex Fax players.

We all have our opinions and often we differ, that's the good thing about this forum.

Well it seems my comments have brought out some different thoughts, one tells me to have a look at myself descending into the usual nastiness from one telling me to "get my head out of SAMs a-se"
Well I still say it's sad. It's sad that it's happened it could have been managed better by both parties.
That's my humble opinion.
I also think it's sad that some posters seem to feel it necessary to be rude and ill mannered.

John as always you are a True Gent,who always gives his opinion on matters in life and Rugby, I take folk as I find them , as you seem to do,I've met Sam B on a couple of occasions and found him a very pleasant you man,obviously he loves to wind opposition fans up, in the way Fax's Andy Bracek does, I find Andy a very nice young man as well,there's no malice in either bloke

Halifax John. Whilst I empathise with you, you did expect the comments, and I agree there is no call for written abuse, would they have said it to your face?
As for the Sam issue, the papers are full of people being charged for 'looking after themselves ' whilst in their own homes. I am not saying he was wrong or right,however as a full time sportsman he should be aware of the snide tactics employed by certain sections of the governing body. Also Sam is no stranger to courting controvsy, and really should have known better, let's face it he is not a stranger to Red Hall.
I do agree that the D E A could, should be more professional in their treatment of all sportspeople, and be regulated to act as a responsible body and made accountable themselves.
Sorry to agree with others about the headline though.

Lance Armstrong used to hate drug testers and their tactics as well. Just saying. If you have nothing to hide there is nothing to worry about and its just an occupational hazard.

Agree add to that Rob Worrincy who most would welcome back tomorrow most ex Fax players get respect from us and I like others feel sorry that Sam has wasted his opportunity in life, he has a skill and is a good player on his day remember the try in the NRC Final that more or less won us the game?

He wasn't there for no reason, was he? He was there to do a drugs test. It might be an unusual situation to you but it's not like this is unknown to professional sportsmen.

I like Sam - but he needs to grow up and be a bit more responsible.

AS I understand, the player can ask the tester to come for a sample any time in the 24 hour window. If some players want to give the tester a tough time, why not say an unruley time for him?

it is your understanding that The player can tell the drug tester when he can come ??

If true then that would be a massive hole in the system. Obviously I do not know the ins and outs but 24 hours seems plenty of time to mask anything that could potentially be in your system. A set time also would do the same.

Down loaded the RFL official booklet and it doesn't mention this.
It does say however that certain players decided by the RFL have to fill in forms explaining where they will be every 60 minutes of every day.
