Well interesting signing. Could be a very good signing or simply another not good enough. Young lad plenty to prove. I hope he ( and others) doesnt feel he needs to fill Penkys boots as nobody can. I hope Karl does better than his brother who started for me started strongly and then went downhill. The good thing is that Karl is fast and has good hands.

Fully agree.Thacks got the tag'one trick pony' but in my opinion Ashall's drives in to line and cutting left worked well for first few games but once everyone knew what he was doing he didnt have anything else inhis locker.With the signing of Murrell cant see Craig getting much game time next year unless he improves dramatically.Hope Karl has the same impact as Rowley did when he first signed.He was awesome.

He'll probably rotate Murrell and Karl because you've got one player who can control and lead a game (Murrell) and then the impact player (Ashall). I hope that's what we do anyway!

Liam Hood from Leeds would have been a better signing for hooker, think we'll struggle to finish in the top 3 next season

Building for the future is the message that I'm getting from the recent signings across the playing roster at Halifax RLFC. Ashall looks to have plenty in the tank for years to come, playing in a pack of seasoned professionals such as Tonks, Bracek, Barlow, Murrell, big bro, Morro etc etc etc & Fieldy on his shoulder every sniff of a break around the ruck we make how can the kid fail to learn ? I happen to believe that once the ghost of Penky has gone, with plenty of gametime this lad will be a good 'un for us especially on a dry or firm surface.
Plenty of talent stacking up in the feeder system locked in for three years contracts, maybe we're "doing a Widnes" in preparation.....
A major trophy ( at championship level ) every season will do me, especially if it means beating the choker Rovers in the process.

Personally I am very pleased with this signing. I even started a thread ages ago about a replacement hooker and suggested Karl Ashall and got shot down!

Youngests who don't demand a huge wage but want to play for the blue n white. Rhino said he didn't want players that didn't want to achieve at Halifax RLFC.

Very good signing IMO! Very quick, smart, hungry and abitious plus he is chomping at the bit to play for Fax.......oh! and he will also listen to the coach and his game plan!

Wont finish top 3??? That halifax pack is the best in this division by far and if your outside backs get some ball from your halfbacks fax will kill it murrel is a great signing

fev have been at the top of the league with a Finn playing behind a dominant pack - we would have to suffer a massive meltdown to not be in the reckoning for the two competitions with the new look squad and murrell adding to the playmakers
