ouch, what a silly game

Worst issue that can happen in amatuer games is neck and head injuries. You just hope the teams have someone there who knows what they are doing which is rare for teams in and around division 3. At Queensbury we are pretty big on the medical side and looking after the players. Have seen some awful treatment of players that go down injured by people who are not qualified and that is in the premier division where you would expect every team to at the very least have a qualified first aider but teams just avoid the situation.

From what ive heard Keighley was very careful and got an ambulance as soon as possible and did everything right, by not letting the player try to move or even moving the player.

Was the ref bad? He was so bad it was funny, the game was played in such a good spirit because both sides realised he was consistent,
Forget the score, KCP lost heavily, it was such fun I have decided not to follow Park, instead I will follow the ref. I will now go and watch every game he referees,
Some golden oldies for Park, Ged, Ollie, Binsy,
Ollie played for the full 80 mins, apart from two 10 mins spells in the sin bin. The first was harsh, he didn't kick the restart quickly enough for the ref. The second was harsher still, he called the ref a clown, apparently the ref took exception, Ollie meant it as a compliment.
Great entertainment.

Greetland toughed it out turning around a 70nil loss at Hoyland Vikings earlier in the season to win 28-24 today despite winning 22-4 at one stage & the incompetent ref awarding 11 consecutive penalties against Greetland playing up the hill in the 2nd half allowing Hoyland back into the game. About ten mins from time the referee was so bad the Greetland players discussed walking off the field of play in protest, they played the 2nd half with two sin binnings so all in all credit to the young lads for sticking with it in the terrible lack of possession that they had !

Went to Irish v Keighley, Despite League placings Keighley outclassed Irish and won.
One of our ex player, also Barrow, got sent off for Irish (a little harsh). Although I don't think it had any bearing on the result. He took it very well, and has gone up a lot in my estimation.
Very disapointed with the language and attitude towards the ref from the many Irish supporters. I am no prude but it is a public area.
Despite this as I always say, Rugby League at any level is a very hard sport and today was no exception, a few niggles but played in a very good spirit.
