Not too bad to say our two biggest fixtures have been on Thursdays aswell...'"
My apologies, Dare. I've just re-checked my figures and you are quite correct. I got one attendance wrong (would you believe for the Fev game!)
I haven't re-checked my Fev attendance calculations but, assuming they're correct at 2,236, that means we're leading by 1. lol. How weird is that?
Maybe a Fev fan can confirm or dispute my figures?

All i know is you brought 191 to ours on a Sunday and that is an undisputed official figure. Dont know how many we brought to the Shay on a Thurs but i would put my house on it, it was a lot more than that. If teams brought a modest following to Fev we would be getting very near to 2500

I would say that Fev brought easily 300 - 400 on both occassions this season!

| Yeah our following at POR was poor. People are still staying away from that fixture which is a shame

It would have been 192 but I had a christening to be at, wish I was though my brother was and he said it was a try fest

Yeah it really is a shame, most other away fixtures I've been to this season we have almost equalled the home crowd and on some occasions out numbered them. The Fax Fev games should IMO be great crowds and atmosphers. I hope things carry on progressing and attendences for these games grow, and be the numbers they should be, real fans of rugby league go for love of the game and love of there team may be a few beers and friendly banter, nothing more.

| Quote: Halifaxboi12 "Ok let's see....
Stadium only fit for cattle and cows to live on - fat fellas stadium
Fans that like to riot when they lose
Can only win a final without the mighty fax joining them
A coach that wants to fight players ((classy))
No licence rewarded for super league
New plans for some crappy little stands
Hardly any fans
3 clubs, cas, wakey, Leeds within a 10 mile radius
Only won 1 title...
Now then what about mighty fax
2 grand finals 2 NRC finals 2 titles
Stadium fit so sl with a grade c licence
Fans over over an average of 2k a week and easily outnumber any other fans at grand finals
We aren't sore losers
We have ran a profit of 20k with no money injection from a sugar daddy
World class and super league proven legend of a coach
A ground that is fit for a premiership game let alone a super league game
World cup games staged there
Brilliant youth set up
Bradford go Halifax we are right next door it makes common sense to give us the bite of the cherry.
The image on the website of the players with their mouths zipped shut sworn to secrecy is like your fans sworn to secrecy about one of our lads who got put in a comer..
Now if you rekon fev can get in keep counting your dream coulda because you haven't got a chance you have more chance beating fax in a final than getting there and we all know that is impossible anyway.
Mighty fax in SL 2013 watch this space.'"

| As a Leigh fan, I too find that a little funny.
In my opinion, it should be Featherstone as they have been by far the most consistant team.
Other elements let them down though.
In some cases, both Fev and Fax are well behind Leigh, but lets see what happens.
I am happy to stay in C1. SL will kill us !

| Quote: littlerich "Both clubs would get shafted whilst in Super League - by the other clubs, by the referees and by the RFL. Come along, step into this burning pit of molten disaster, kill your club and disappear forever.
Neither club would do any better than Salford, Widnes or Castleford. Go and visit their boards and see how happy they are. For both our clubs, the best chance of top flight RL will come with a 2 tier SL and then a slow organic growth into the top tier. It would be suicide to go in now or 2015, unless a massive sea change occurs at either club.
This post may be un-ambitious and negative but that is what the RFL have reduced the game to. It is no reflection on either club or its tremendous fans.'"
You call it slow and un-ambitious, I call it a foooooking good post

Maybe both Fax and Fev should go cap in hand to the RFL to ask for an advance on funds? Or pehaps move our games to Friday night so we can attract sub-2,000 crowds?

| The issue as we all know it is that on-field performance is irrelevant. Geographical position plays more importance so another London or Southern team probably have more chance of getting in SL.
How good would it look for London derby in SL? Irony by the way.
I still say I would rather be out of it and challenging for silverware as opposed to be stuffed week in, week out but this places a ceiling on our attendances which will only improve if we are in SL.

| That is indeed an interesting point, because one of the factors affecting crowds this season is that you can throw a handkerchief over the grounds. Every game's a derby.
Next season it looks like there'll be the two Cumbrian clubs, Barrow and Doncaster coming up. If a few new clubs make Championship status in 2014, how will that affect average attendance ?

Rich - It wasn't too long ago that I put a crispy £20 note in to save Halifax, but I will take your comment a little tongue in cheek. We were not in administration as a result and what has happened since has been nothing short of remarkable.Top 6 is almost a guarentee, and potentially second would be amazing !
Leigh are more realistic, and I am proud to say, securing local lads for next season whilst balancing the books is the right way to go.
The sub 2000 crowds are dissappointing, but the corporate element is flourishing. Away fans are minimal though as a result.
As for the facilities (which was the main priority some years ago), we all know which one of the 3 teams is streets ahead on that front.
I too am for the 2 tier SL. Its the right thing to do and benefits the international game, whilst giving teams such as Fev, Fax and Leigh the chance to get promoted in a fair and legit manner.
In the meantime, I will await the news on who will go up (if any), whereas at the the same time see SL teams struggle to the extent that they might go out of business (other clubs will follow)
