Gene, Azuie, Branighan have come in with only Govin and Smith as noticable departures.

Sorry mate but Fax fans have good reason to "hope", they have clearly strenghthened and are an improved squad from previous yrs.

Which bit of my post has to do about previous years. You will find the thread is for people to predict NEXT years final placings. Cant help if you are insecure about your teams hopes for the coming season, but then again if i were a Widnes fan id be concerned too.

Fax fans know nothing is "in the bag" but have confidence NOT arrogance that 2010 will be good due to the squad improvements.

Think i predicted that we will finish second. I guess the bookies will also be arrogant as well when they make us and Barrow favorites? Get a grip.

The same amount of boxes that you've ticked as well. Our 'implosion' still got us to our goal at the start of the league season of the grand final. Don't tell me Widnes fans didn't think your SL place in 2009 wasn't 'in the bag' in 2008?

Coyle wasn't exactly bad with us, he just didn't do anything. Thought you could have made a better signing than him, previous years you've come up with signings like Webster and Moran. Might be better if he loses a few pounds.

Of our regular squad from this year, we have lost some decent players, but also all of those were injured for a lot of the season - like Duffy, Morrison and Fletcher. The addition of Haggerty, Pickersgill and Allen to the forwards should serve us well. We do also have quite a few youngsters, and whilst none of them have shown to be world beaters as yet, they will have the benefit of experience and hopefully physically matured from last year. We have a lad in the academy who is an absolute monster and was surprised he didn't get much of a look in this year, but he is young and not much point rushing him through before he is ready.

i wouldnt say that fax fans are arrogent so much as confident about what we have.

i think what we lacked last season was obviously a stand off and now we have one of them that should be that position filled.

another thing we lacked was composure in the big games and in the big situations and we have signed 2 experianced lads from super league who i think will bring a calming influance to the team in those big situations.

so from last year where a grand final was reached and but for Blacky's butterfingers moment a northern rail final would have been reached as well.

i think that most fax fans are basing things on last season and thinking well its an improved squad from last year so maybe the team can go one better.

i would be fibbing if i said i didnt think we had a good chance to win the league and get to the grand final.

but i would think that Barrow and Widnes will also be thinking they are in with a chance of the final.

Supprised Almost everyone has Batley in the bottom 3. For the second half of last season we were the 2nd best team in the league behind the Eagles (results based). We have made some good signings, and replaced Mennel with 2 good halves in Kyle Wood and Gareth Moore to play alongside Handforth, (who Rhino rates as the best halfback in the league), and of course the best coach in the league in Big Karl who will have a full pre season with his own squad. I just hope we continue to go under the radar and the Championships players underestimate us as much as a lot of the fans seem to. Rhino is very optimistic for the coming season and so is everyone at Mount Pleasant. See you all in 2010.
