No idea what Huddersfield are playing at - they leave O'brien with us while they're playing crap, but in with an outside chance of the play-offs, then when their play-off hopes are gone and they've nothing to play for they recall him. While difficult to understand their logic I'd have thought this gave us less chance of signing him permanently than if he'd stayed for the rest of the season.

Who cares anyway none of it matters one jot.

On a more serious note. I do hope Finn is the right man for the job and get the reasoning behind his appointment but agree a complete break from anyone associated with " an inner circle " tag.

Main concern is the lack of experience with just half a season as an assistant and one in Champ 1, we might not be a Wigan or a Saints but there's a lot of expectancy at Fax and it's a pretty big job for someone who still has his L plates on with little time to learn the hard way.

Very good point, I thought they recalled him because of the play offs, but like you say they're out of the running! Maybe it's Fax who are returning him for costs purposes? I'm assuming we'll be paying something (if not all AOB's wages) for his services. It just doesn't make sense otherwise.

It just doesn't make sense. AOB has been outstanding for Fax and Huddersfield don't need him. But having said that, just glanced at the Huddersfield squad for their Friday match and they say Adam Milner is injured so that probably explains it.

He's in their squad for tomorrow night's match.

Well I suppose the reason why AOB came to us in the first place was because Huddersfield signed Adam Milner who's now injured.

I was surprised we managed to get AOB in the first place, he's still a SL quality player. Huddersfield's 1st choice hooker Nathan Peats is knocking on a bit and this may well be his last season, so with AOB contracted to Huddersfield for next season (I think!) then he may well be still in their plans.

Tom will do a great job in the absence of AB.
Just watched a few of their highlights and they have some pace across the park and like to move the ball with a decent spine of 1,7 and 9.
Jake Shorrocks rarely misses with the boot so discipline will be just as important as ever.

We need to start like we finished at Haven on Sunday, match them and get on top in the pack and play at the right end of the field and they are a bit suspect in D with the left edge in particular being exposed.

Widdop seems to have dropped off at Cas and looked really slow in their heavy defeat at Warrington. I noticed he wasn't in the team at Wigan . We don't want a white elephant.

Announced that McGillvary is leaving Huddersfield and hasn't said he's retiring. If he isn't, at 35 he's likely to drop into the Championship. Now that would be nice .... Walmsley and Macca on the wings!

I would question the logic in signing a 31 year old fullback as a back up but then again maybe Pickersgill is moving on and this lad comes cheap. Agree with TF about McGillvary, the guy is a beast who has looked after himself, but again its likely a 1 season fix and where would it leave Salty or maybe Walmsley gets that SL offer. Widdop I wouldn't touch with a barge pole unless he came really cheap and maybe as an assistant type role. He looks just about finished and he isn't going to be putting his body on the line for us for 30k.
