Quote: Miserybusiness "We can't use DR now, thats one of the issues.Ruan wasnt even championship standard, but we all know about Grix and recruitment..although Keyes is leaving...he does seem up for the fight,so i'd be surprised if he moves today but if it frees money for a forward it makes the Morgan signing make sense..'"

What has any of what’s happening now got to do with Simon Grix?
But since you mentioned it what about him bringing in the likes of Walmsley, Keyes and Joufrett who all played a big part in our better seasons of late.

All people want to talk about being wise after the event is anyone who they wouldn’t have signed, where it didn’t work out and either underperformed or left.

There’s as many players who have left or gone backwards under Finn and he’s planning to sign a number of players from Dewsbury a side that’s going to be relegated and another dependant on us not likewise being relegated under his leadership but nothing said about that.

I’m not solely blaming Finn there’s never just one reason or one person involved in a sporting team environment.

Finn in the week when we release a prop has brought in Kai ( I don’t have to guess what would have been said if Grix had done that ) and the money saved from Lannon’s release should be able to be used for a replacement.

If Finn and the club agree to release Keyes to Bradford at this stage of the season whatever the reason would be simply madness.

I only meant Grix signing Ruan for Hull-nothing deeper.. icon_lol.gif
We've now got a prop from Doncaster to replace Lannon and as a Fax lad should be up for it.. icon_thumb.gif

No idea on the Lad from Doncaster just hope he just gets ripped in and Matt Shaw did say “ the first deal of the day. “
Whether that means for us or just in general?

PS: I was hoping we could get Seb Ikanihifo in early from Giants but he played last night.

If your expecting a big aggressive middle then you are going to be very very disappointed , in three seasons at Doncaster I can't recall him breaking a tackle.
He is a big lad with a heart the size of a pea ,if you thought Ruan was poor then hold my beer.

Thought Ruan played 2 full anonymous games for us but it doesnt matter..let's just hope Keelan and any other incomings fit the bill. icon_thumb.gif

The state we’re in the first thing I would / was expecting is for the club to at least try and do something as do to nothing would be like hoisting the surrender flag a bit higher and at least they have done that.

How or why Ruan came into and fits with our current situation never entered my head.

I respect your assessment of the lad with 3 years of experience to base it on and did wonder why a current rival would release a player to us as we enter the business end of the season but will see how he goes before forming an opinion obviously get behind him if and when he pulls a Fax shirt on.

At least being a local lad we might get a few more of family and friends through the gate.

Comments on one of the other Facebook platforms said they were messing him around and they signed someone else and Fax nipped in.

Didn’t see all the game last night but he looked to be driving it with some power from what I did see.

Purely from last night's game I'd be delighted if he ended with us next year. Everytime weve signed a real blockbusting forward over last few years they always seem to have been dropped then shifted on, often after very short stay. Unlikey hed do massive minutes at his age particuarly when switching to part time but looked just the sort of forward the fans would love to have at the club

Its the old as age problem, do you keep players at expense of culture or do you try and find a happy medium. We went with culture and found ourselves in a sticky spot with a powder puff pack that all "work hard". As we found though working hard simply is not enough on its own at this level. I hate to single players out but when you see McComb, who obviously gives 100% every time he is on the field for us, lining up at loose forward and you take a look at some of the players we have moved on, then its not really hard to see why we are in the trouble we are in.

Kieran Hudson incoming from Leeds according to Gledhill, from memory did he play in the preseason friendly at Bradford and went well before knocking himself out trying to put a big hit on Doro and getting it wrong.

Quote: faxcar "Well it looks very unlikely it’s for next year like I originally suggested to try and make any sense of it as Salford have just extended his contract for another year.

Release a prop and a couple of days later bring a half in on loan when we already have 3 and trying to accommodate them when there all fit beggars the spine up.

Anybody got any idea what’s going on these days because I certainly haven’t.'"

The only thing i can think of is maybe have a look at him for the rest of this year with the view to bring him back on loan next year if he impresses
