I think this would be a great title for the campaign. It covers the game as a whole, not just Halifax's issues, and is a direct attack on those running the game - which is the fundamental problem. It would also carry with it the thousands of other non Halifax fans who share our deep concerns with the game. It also gets those not in the know asking what the problem is, and therefore gets people interested. Also, I dare say the Union favouring national press would jump on it, which would cause huge embarassment for the poodles of Red Hall.

| Looks like its a tough one. Its obviously a great idea in principle but with some people already saying they dont like this or that then maybe some things need tweaking. It needs to be something that everyone can get behind to build momentum. Its going to be hard for people to get behind something they dont all believe in, i mean for me the P&R thing, yes i used to like it back in the day and im not the biggest fan of some of the parts of franchising but im clever enough to realise that at the moment there is no way the game can support simple P&R, to send a Champioship team in to SL for just one season would be suicide. Also as someone has mentiond Hate RFL means i hate Rugby League basically and i dont, i dislike some of the decisions the sports ruling body makes and question the legitimacy of what they have done but i dont hate RFL.
I think this can be a great campaign if done correctly, but it needs everyone behind it.

| Hit them where it hurts for maximum publicity. Picture the scene, Old Trafford and it’s Super League Grand Final night. Fifteen minutes to go and Warrington are two points in front of Wigan. Suddenly a disturbance starts in one of the stands and all the stewards and security cameras are diverted to the area of the ground in question. At a given signal from the three other stands small groups of Championship fans storm the pitch dressed in shirts of all the Championship/Championship 1 clubs with a huge banner for their cause and the game has to be stopped!
Eddie says ‘Who are this lot?’
Stevo replies ‘No idea, I don’t recognise the shirts. They’re obviously nothing to do with Rugby League.’
This could be done.

Quote Fax4Life="Fax4Life"Play in a RL hotbed and get decent crowds yes BUT what have they done for the French national team???
Nowt cos they are a team full of non Frenchmen.
What do they do for the ENGLISH game?
Nowt as they are taking up a place in OUR league.
In a way they are probably hurting the game in France as what if you took say Man U or Arsenal out of the Premier League? It would lose some appeal as they are two of the major draws and have huge support.
I have nothing against them but stick to the facts please.'"
Not a single French man here. No siree.

Catalans are doing a great job, how manay teams have managed to get over 8000 for harlequins?? they did at the weekend. Im totally againgst the RFL going for expansion at all costs, but the CATALANS certainly bring more to SL than half the teams

No they don't. They get decent hone crowds but what do they bring when they play over here? For me you could include a team in south Africa and get the same result.

| A few Questions I have-
- What is the aim of the trust these days? Its certainly shifted from the original plans when it was set up.
- How independent is the trust? No website anymore, a google search for "Halifax RLFC Supporters Trust" brings up a page on the official website
- Reading the "Supporters Direct Membership Policy" parts a) and b)
Quote Halifax RLFC Supporters Trust
a) The group must aspire to play a responsible part in the life of the Club its members support
b) It must aim to exercise influence in the life of the Club through share ownership and / or Board
representation where possible'"
This protest/campaign does neither IMO
- I understand no one from the Fax Trust has been to the Quarterly Meetings held by Supporters Direct for RL Trusts for a while.
I feel that the interests of the Trust should stop with the club, a wider campaign such as this is not an activity the trust should be used as a vehicle to support, and is perhaps something that the supporters club should be running, if they did choose to involve themselves.
The Trust has done great work over the years, and this past year along has been very good by been able to fund the u23s, but Supporters Trust's are not fundraising vehicles, thats the job of a Supporters Club or Association.

they take as many fans away as many champ clubs take away. And whilst at home they get more than most super league clubs. Head into perpignan on a game day...the whole town shuts down whilst the game is on. But I suppose they are French.

As an original founder of The Trust I have to say Brew that you are very wrong on a number of fronts.
Also we are totally independent and are not just looking to represent fans of Halifax but all RL fans.
Let me ask another question...... How many on here who have voiced an opinion are members of the trust? We have about 120 members of which about 6 turn up regularly to our meetings. Ideally we need 500 fans and we will have a much stronger voice but this will take time

Brew you ask how independant is the Trust and I will ask you how independant do you think the Supporters Direct is ? The last meeting I went to I was aghast to tell you the truth and the Championship reps were somewhat put in our place by Rimmer , the only one to speak up for us was the Colne Valley MP.
I have challenged this since and was told that the Supporters Direct are part funded by the RFL and the meeting came across as purely and simply a PR excercise for the RFL.
Laura Harrison has done sterling work in this area for Supporters Direct and works really hard but I think it is a conflict of interest when an organisation born out of supposadly representing fans of the game are reliant on the very organisation they should be challenging.
