Quote: littlerich "“Matt’s period as coach has been one of the most successful in the club’s history".

Amen to that. Let's see us now lambast the next 4 coaches we have and realize that actually Matt was a winner.

Good luck Matt. Thanks for an absolutely memorable last 5 years. Thanks for the champagne rugby and thanks for putting a trophy in our cabinet.

So long fella
100% agree. Takes a post like this to get a big enough rise out of me to actually post nowadays but I couldn't agree more Rich.

I remember having a convo with a couple of Fax fans the day after the grand final and actually having to "stick up" for Matt. Unbelievable.

Sometimes, some people dont know what they had till they suffer the alternative...

Thanks for the memories Matt! Its been emotional! Good luck wherever you end up next mate.

Might be announced as replacing John Kear Tuesday afternoon though?'"

Cas or wakey whoever, maybe he wants to stay part time hence why he might end up at either....and then we need a full time coach??

This is one from out of the blue, I won't lie as I have never been one of his fans as there has been something missing at this club and I have always thought it was down to the coach as he has never been keen on speaking to us the fans or even the sponsnors and there has been a lack of professionalism, the players seem to take the mickey at times.
I will say thanks though to the guy as he has got us to 2 GFs and a NRC Final winning one of them with a very pleasing on the eye style, but I think this has been more down to having one of the best squads in this league and in 2009 we should have won the lot we were such a good team but we didn't.

I too would like to thank Matt for the time he has put into Fax for the last few years and I too wish him well for the future but I refuse to behave like " Ckicken Little" waiting for the sky to drop on my head.
I think we should have more faith in our BODs as they are far more informed than we are of the circumstances surrounding his departure I think we should look upon it as a positive thing for the Club, onwards and upwards I say and trust them as they want the best for the Club.

Exactly my point, when Nobby came to the Club the players embraced it and stepped up to the mark their performance improved and I spoke to a few players and they were enjoying it. Well it`s time for the fans to step up too , Matt has gone , we will have a new coach in place and the players and the new coach deserve our utmost support.
Instead of looking upon it as a negative thing embrace it as a new chapter in the life of the Club.I don`t know wether we will get the nod next week or not but if we don`t let`s ensure we are the best team in the Championship.
If we do get in then we will all have to step up as we will not get any extra leg ups from the RFL it will be up to us.
So lets start this new chapter on Sunday and if anyone took or knew anyone who went to Blackpool who does not normally go to a match will you please try to get them down on Sunday .The best thing we can do for our club is to increase the crowd, week on week lets try to get more people down there.
Let`s be more vocal at the match for the players this week too , it can`t have been easy loseing at Blackpool then loseing your coach. Let`s show them how much we apreciate the effort they all made last Sunday.
Plus let`s all give a special cheer to the people who made the supreme effort of doing the walk to the Dewsbury game in aid of the Under 23s . They will be on the pitch at half time handing over the next instalment of £5,000 from Faxbuilder.
Faxbuilder are hopeing to make their final payment of the Under 23s commitment of £25,000 at the Tolouse game a good 3 months sooner than we expected. That is down to the wonderful Fax supporters who when asked "how can you help your club" certainly stepped up to the mark that is such a positive thing for our Club.
It`s down to all of us working together to make things happen now ,wether we get in Sooper Dooper or not. So let`s not be like Chicken Little waiting for the sky to fall down, as the future of our club is very much in our own hands really. I for one intend to look forward to the future and will work that little bit harder this year to ensure we keep having more good times at the club.
