We can go round in circles wondering. Fact is, we [sizehave[/size won a GF. Fact is, we're still a relatively small-resourced club when you think about our attendances and the part-time status of our back room staff. Bradford fans probably thought they were invincible too in the late 1990's. Now look at them.
It's not nice and it's frustrating. That's what sport is all about and [sizethere's only Man Utd fans[/size who can truly sit back and get used to being at the top of the tree for twenty odd years. Everyone else just has to take the lows with the highs.
Some people never get high..............................
Do Man utd actually have any proper fans? I thought they were all plastic glory hunters.
Back to the topic, i have my own opinion which i dont wish to express on here about what is going on at the club, but the facts are that we have achieved well and won much needed silverware which i was more than happy to celebrate, as well as thanking Matt personally for helping the club achieve it, but we cant deny that there are problems somewhere. Whether that results in new players or a new coach only the board and finances will dictate. The most important thing is that most posters on here want the best for the club, its just how this is to be achieved that we might disagree on.

| Let's assume that the board loose patience with MC, and we have pots of money left under our cellery cap won't we have to pay up the contracts of those culled and where will we get the replacements from?

I'm proud to keep the faith in our coach, the team and the club. Despite very limited resources they've all performed miracles in the last few years, and they've done it with pride, loyalty and obvious ambition AND they made us Grand Final Champions!
You carry on following silently and we'll carry on singing our hearts out to help lead the lads to victory again.'"
There you are - the reason I don't often post on this board. Personal remarks and assumptions. You think that because I don't want to enter into the petty sniping undertaken by some of the people on this board when they encounter a view that they disagree with that I am a silent fan? There is a life and Fax fans away from this board. I don't think that the people I watch Fax with think I am a silent fan.
Just because you post on here does not give you a monopoly on being a Fax fan - remember that there are far more who are not members of this forum than are.
I have said my piece - and it does not look like I am a lone voice - so I'll go back to having conversations with people who want to debate issues.

Man U fans are usually smug 'I only back winners' types, makes me laugh when they say I have supported them all my life, as if they started supporting them when they were rubbish, like they never have been 1974 apart!!!
Glory fans, can't stand them.
Back on topic remember how we nearly lost the GF and if we had we would not be singing MC's praises would we?
Thankfully we did win - somehow.
Not because of any great gameplan it was because of a bunch of lads that did not want to lose in for most their biggest game of their lives and on the back of losing the year before, thats why I think he is a poor coach he didn't win it, they did!

So, when things go well it's the players that did it. When things go bad it's the coach. Right - gotcha.
This forum is getting more like a cheap tabloid by the minute. People just can't wait to be vindicated over Calland. Many bagged him last year and he (and the players) delivered a trophy and some egg on faces of many a poster on here. Now it's payback time I guess.
Let's get a new coach. Someone nice. Tony Anderson was a nice lad. Let's get him back.

Kinda shot yaself in the foot there didnt ya!
Facts are facts, we have been to two grand finals, does it matter we won with 20 seconds to go, we won! Only fax fans could pour cold water on their own championship winning club!
Fact is we are bottom of the league now and we do need to improve our performances in order to win games, Saying its time for our most sucsesfull coach in years to go is just a tad over reactional dont ya think!
Lets get behind our Championship winning club, not take every opportunity to have a go!

| Petty bickering aside the attutide of some players reminds me of when we lost a t Barrow in '84 and Ken Roberts got sacked ( i think). So maybe it is time for a change, I believe Calland has struggled to get consistency but maybe you'll never get that with a team that plays the type of rugby we do. Who knows, but what I do know is - We have one point so far this season and that is poor.

Yes agreed, and we need to work with what we have got to get things right, change change change is not the right thing to do, what u might end up with could be far far worse, a new coach would want to change everthing, then we would get the bull about rebuidling and time to settle.
Keep faith Fax fans, its a marathon not a sprint!

| Ok we won somat, and ok we were in the do-do before Martin Hall took on the job. But, have we really progressed as much as we should have?
The one high point for me was the night at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, ok and the 3 days in Toulouse where my urine turned to blood for 3 days afterwards
Thanks to Matt Calland for coaching this side, thanks very much, hes done a fair job. That doesn't change my opinion that i would like a better coach who has more experience and i would like us to be more consistent, it would also be really marvellous if we could make the next 3 years count by becoming organised, consistent, balanced and clear out some of the players and build a fresh young side, I still think were too ragged and poorly coached, regardless of whether we have the ability to turn any side over on any given day. This isn't about bagging Matt because were having 'another' poor run, this is about people wanting the club to progress to the 'next' level, maybe we have gone as far as we can with present imcumbants.
