Quote: Rotherham Fev Fan "Well that's kind of ging dong's point Rich. He's ok with that opportunity - most wingers are. However, if I was a coach I'd be asking my half backs to bombard him with the high one and exploit his defence. It appears Daryl Powell thought so too.
He's quick and a good athlete but he has defensive frailties - otherwise he'd be in SL!
A good quick athlete, Yes. Rugby player??? I suppose it's a subjective question so down to each individuals assessment.
Bob would have him in his team every time. I wouldn't mind him being in the opposition cos I believe you can plan to keep him quiet and leave his defensive weaknesses to open up in front of him.
As I said, it's subjective. Cost you the game?? Well no. Fax's discipline made a significant contribution to the result as anything else.'"

Yes, it is subjective, and he does have the occasional bad game. There was one game last year (and I just cant remember which one it was - someone will tell me) where the opposition peppered Rob with the high bomb time after time, and after he caught every single one, ran them back and even scored from one they gave up that particular idea!!

Yes, I would have him in my team and the season will tell, he will do more good for us than bad.

Was a disappointing game last night. First half went well but the second half was a disaster.

Was very simple why we lost... too many penalties. No matter who we play this season if we give them as much free yardage up the pitch like we did with Fev we are going to struggle. Gannon and Penky are just too hot-headed. Both have been in the game for years now but still give cheap penalties away that put un-necessary pressure on ourselves. Forget about the ref for once. If the players can't control themselves we deserve to have penalties awarded against us.

Fev didn't do too much fancy last night, we're just played it very simple. They didn't give silly penalties away, moved it well from left to right to catch our defence out and kept their cool under pressure.

One other thing, we need to get better distance on our kicks when we have a penalty. One last night looked as if we'd kicked the ball about ten yards.

Sort the ill-disipline out and we have half a chance.

Ive just watched the game back, thought Worrincy played really well. Put the effort in taking the ball forward, made the tackles in the first half and was solid. Sure, not a good effort in the tackle for the try in the corner but time after time he was left 2 on 1 by his own centre which is just poor. He was solid under the kicking game of Fev, just got caught out with one tackle. In all honesty, other than Beswick I thought he was one of Fax's better players.

Quote: Fevxr2i "First of all it was a great advert for our league once again

Secondly it seems there were no incidents or bother so think we can both be applauded

I think the disallowed try early in the second half was a gamebreaker had it been given it mightve been curtains for us but luckily it wasnt given and we went up other end and scored

At 20-20 it was anyones game but we had got our tails up and kicked on i felt we played the ref better and fax didnt resulting in the poor discipline - the fustration clearly shown by blacks (who we did a job on in the 2nd half) quivering bottom lip
at the final whistle

Thought watene stole a wage tonight highly ineffective during his spells not many drives and not many tackles 1 season too many for frank you guys miss maloney
badly'"

If the in-goal area had been two inches bigger, this thread might have had a completely different feel to it. This was right in front of me, and my first reaction was "try". If not on Sky, I think it would probably have been given. Winning at half-time, and then scoring first in the second may have resulted in a completely different outcome. Sport's a fickle old thing - that's why we love it so much!

You're right, and it clearly wasn't a try. Games like this can be settled by the smallest of margins.
