Quote: Faxhali "You are right, mud does stick, Apparently there was only a police presence their becuase featherstone were playing and there was trouble between featherstone and Warrington or something in the Cup, Also due to incidents in the town again involving Featherstone folk ( i wont say fans as i dont really think they are, just band wagon jockeys ) I was there last year when we played barrow, not a single problem that i saw or remembered, unlike this time, it was a day to remember for us winning, but also in years to come the memories will always be dragged down by these incidents. UNfortunatly going on the totalRL site, many others teams have had really bad experiences of playing fev due to the fans/violence.'"

Fed up of hearing that there was trouble at the cup match v warrington, the main problem in the ground was we was all shooved into stand we was in for final with warrington fans. Warrington were expecting a few hundred but got maybe 1000-1500 so we were crammed in. The stand where you fax fans were at start of game was empty but they wouldnt even let us have a small space in there, so we were crammed up like sardines. Ive been to every fev away game this year bar tolouse and can say ive not seen any trouble.

Well you wouldn't would you being a Fev fan, and probably one of the good ones, its what goes on after the match !!!! when you are probably walking home with friends discussing the game, Have a look on the totalRL site like i said, Many fans from many different teams all different age groups, with the general concensuss that they will never visit again due to what they witnessed when they have been. Cant all be liars now can they, the RL community doesn't all come together to just willy nilly come up with these comments to get to fev fans.

I am willing to bet the gates for away fans visiting your place next year will be down.

It wont affect us or our gates, you see we have a special turnstile that says CHAMPIONS SEASON TICKET HOLDERS on it. Perhaps if you come next year you could wear one of those 2010 champions t-shirts for a laugh, if you aint got one they are on sale in the shop now for 20p.

I normally go with mates in car so do generally miss anything that goes on after game.

Not many teams have brought fans to fev this season, but its same when you read barrow forums, fans of all ages abusing away fans, you get it at every ground.

And to me fax are play off winners, were league champions, after all you cant be a leader of something thats finished a010.gif

btw ive still not watch the game , cant bring myself to do it icon_sad.gif

Honestly, If you sky plussed it on the day you wont get to watch it all anyway, i have viewed it and then it stopped ten minutes in the second half, DAMN THOSE FIRE STARTERS. The second half is the best part, the rest is just boring to be honest icon_lol.gif

Your right, come the first game of the season you will no longer be champions, However we will be until the Grand final next year, thats 365 days of 2010 GRAND CHAMPIONS !!!!

Fev played 22 league and playoff games lost 3
Fax played 23 League and playoff games lost 5

Not bad really hey.

Im a wire, and i was at the CC game between us and fev and can honestly say that there was'nt any trouble between wire and fev fans. We were in the red lion outside the ground prior to kick off and the atmosphere was good. Fev fans i met that day were great before and after the game. Remember i was at this game so know what im talking about.

At the Champ GF last year there were a few dozen fax fans in the South Stand, one being my brother, (bought wrong tickets from RFL) and ended up watching the game with the bulk of the Barrow fans.... there was no trouble at ALL.

I dont think that would have been the case with the Fev fans this Sunday, do you????

Mark Aston needs to read this remark with regards to Sam Barlow.

Matty Wire you will get ban writing true facts on here.

Iwas also in the pub that day before the game and was having some banter with your fans. I then had a good afternoon in the ground although it was a bit crowded in the stand. Like you say Matty a good day but you shouldnt be backing us Scum(as some Halifax fans have described us)as we are always in the wrong.

Maybe not. But all im remarking on is what i seen with my own eyes. The faxhali guy was saying that there was loads of trouble at the CC game between us and Fev. It was WRONG. There was no trouble. Im merely stating facts and to hear blatant lies bandied about is the only reason im posting here. From what i hear from friends who went on sunday (all wire fan's.) there was a minority from both clubs which tarnished the majority. The same happened at wembley when a few idiots wearing our colours got involved with a few idiots from Leeds. To be honest the only reason there would have been the police presence that there was is because with 6 team = 6 different sets of fans so the police would have only been doing there job and that is policing and assisting, not because of some make believe riot by fev fans in april. Sorry for just stating the truth.

I also hope that the guy from halifax makes a full recovery. Best wishes and get well soon.

I posted regarding the Wire v Fev game on another topic. Appreciate your comments but can you say for certain there was no trouble at the game?? I posted it as I spent quite a few minutes talking to a policeman on the pitch when we were evacuated from the stand (one of our group is a retired copper of 21 years and the last 10 as a dog handler) he started talking to the copper as he felt the dog handlers were getting the dogs too worked up. During this conversation the policeman clearly stated that there presence was stepped up due to trouble at the game against Wire previously and went on to say there were disturbances before and after the game.

Do we think he was lying? I'm not saying you didn't see any trouble but it's not to say there wasn't any is there? I can honestly say I haven't seen any police presence like this year in the last 5 I have attended.

mate, the warrington guardian does a report if someone so much as drops a crisp bag in the street. If there was trouble it would have been reported. I went into town after the match and there was a few fev fans knocking abiout for an hour or two. But they were definatly NOT causing bother. Like i said i was in the red lion that was heaving with both sets of fans before the game and the atmosphere was good. I wouldnt put it past a warrington copper to make up a bull excuse cause he doesnt really know or care to give you a valid reason. But i can honestly say that nothing happened in warrington that april day.

Let me just make clear also im not defending featherstone for what happened sunday as i wasnt there. Im just offering an impartial view of fev fans visiting my town in april this year.
