I dont think well have time to create a Bosman'esc new european legislation on employment and personal rights in RL, strictly speaking, a contract isnt a contract if it infringes upon Barlows rights to make a living in a legal manner for his employer, but as i said i dont think we have the stomach to push anything on this, or the time, i certainly think these kind of clauses are not fair on players/workers though and i have heard of them being overturned in other workplaces.
Clauses which stop people playing rugby like this should be removed from the game IMO. He is not a Sheffield player, Sheffield should have no rights to determine how he works for his new employer, i dont beleive the data protection act or official secrets act are hugely important in Championship one as far as matters on the pitch go.

If his pay for the restraint is low then the restraint doesn't stand up, if it's significant then it does, imagine it would be low so I would play him!
