Because people want to see the best teams. However the closed shop is viewed it still has the top clubs in it. Leeds, Saints, Wigan and Bradford. It would be great to see Fax line up against these clubs again. Admittedly i wouldn't want to experience what Salford or Harlequins fans are going through right now - i'd want a fair degree of competitiveness. For that we need a financial backer(s).

But when you're playing those sides every few weeks, it almost becomes run of the mill, particularly when you're getting a tonking from them and having to pay 20 quid to stand in the rain at Headingley or Odsal. 2005 taught us that Super League really isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

I agree completely - Widnes are doing it as they think it will swing favours with the RFL - fair play to them - but if they didnt need to have it - they wouldnt and they would save the money. If the RFL want a team in SL they will be - regardless of the junior players they have - look at Celtic before - if they dont want you - you wont be in.
