I am more than confident that when the RFL auditors do turn up we will be under the Cap and that is all I have to say on the matter. There's a huge difference between 'buying a new ground' and upgrading to SL standard. Investing in a brand new stadium would be a non-starter and probably financial suicide in todays' climate (as Cas, Wakey, Celtics, Saints etc are finding out.). By the start of next season we will have our new £250K floodlights (hooray !!), which are over and above SL standard. This is just the start of the work.
The RFL will have to relax ground requirements prior to the next round of licensing or 3 or 4 existing SL clubs will have to be booted out. With a good business plan for redevelopment and guaranteed investment/grants (which we are well on with) it could be VERY interesting come 2011.
2 years ago who would have thought Barrow would have won the league, got to the NR Cup Final and reached the Grand Final ??

| I think it a joke that barrow have 49 players, no way are they under the cap.Sorry to say it but definitetly cheating.If it was widnes this topic be 10 pages long.  We lost games due to key players out and not have cover like barrow.A superleague squad would be happy with a squad like barrow.Rooney,catic alone must be on 60 grande between them.When we got injuries players like grady,yates,houghton,hulme who are all youngsters.Anyway the game is corrupt and i hope fax or fev win the final. |
