On the subject of changing shirts and attendance figures.

I might have been counted as a Fev supporter.

I did my old trick of nipping in and out of the loo changing colours depending on who was winning.

Not much to do in the second half.

Sometimes I get confused and the more observant may have seen me with a Fax shirt and a flat cap.
Worst one was when we played Leigh at Blackpool and I ended up in a Leigh shirt with a blue and white wig. icon_lol.gif

Or when I was at Sheffield and I forgot to take my Eagles shirt, I went and bought one and it trebled their kit sales for the year. icon_lol.gif

Great day out yesterday. I managed to meet up with all my Fev mates at some point or other pre-match & chew the cud, take the pi$$ out of each other, especially over the recent reserve match brawl & ensuing crowd disturbance
( mouthing off by moi & one or two others ). Interestingly one of my Fev buddies was very keen on backing Fax against the bookies with us having 6 or 8 start, how often do the bookis nail it !!!!
Gorgeous George: God damned awful, super league can't come quick enough for him please.
1st half: Awesome contest.
2nd half: Poor discipline & ball control by us & Fev's clinical finishing did for us.
Segregation: Pathetic but I understand the reasons & why fors but very poorly executed I'm afraid.

For those of you who have never played RL on a hillside, it's far more difficult getting back onside running backwards uphill than it is downhill. We looked shot to pieces in the 2nd half & couldn't stay the pace.

The Championship: Fantastic division yet again this season but already the top 5 spots are in breakaway mode, change is needed SL1 & SL2 !

The crowd/atmosphere: Awesome effort by both sets, but I ask this question, if Fev & Fax weren't such a keen rivalry this last few years would a crowd this size have turned up at any other fixture with the current 14 teams in this division ?

Sorry I missed you Colin, got here a bit late, went into the pub opposite Post Office rd, Last Orders, or something.
Only time for one pint. Got to the ground payed £17 to sit down and ended up in the Fev end behind the posts.
Might ask for my extra £2 back.

We called in Last orders on way to ground after Top house but it was too full to get served so we went to the blue lagoon under the family stand.

I'd ask for all 17 of your £'s back if i were you !

I saw you walk in fron of the stand just around kick off time. We sang rude songs & made hand gestures towards you hahahaha, it was the Fax fans not the Fev fans icon_lol.gif

It's odd that they allowed you to stand there 'cos they wouldn't allow us in that section 15 mins prior to your arrival......

The whole "segregation" thing was a farce from start to finish.

First of all they directed cars and coaches to a car park that the coaches could not access, resulting in been dropped off in the street, and then causing traffic chaos when the coaches returned to pick up.

We then had to walk down a street that looked like the set of life on mars and up some dirt track to the turnstiles, on the way we saw a child no older than 10 smashing glass bottles into the ground and shouting "Rovers".

Get into the ground to find there is infact no actual segregation anyway, just an allocated area, seats covered in muck from the building site and some broken.

I don't know how many seats there were in the top corner where we were, but there weren't enough for everyone, then a group of Fax fans were ushered behind the goal as the stand was full.

Pointed this out to the goon with a moustache from Key Security who was the Head Steward who said "well its worked hasn't it". What was quite clear that it hadn't.

Despite all that, it was a decent day out, I think too much was emphasise was placed on the segregation thing, and there was no hassle inside or outside of the ground, except for when that ballboy couldn't catch and started booing. Is he related to that kid from Swansea?

While the result was disappointing, Its not the end of the world, not a cup final, and the league isn't won in April.

Segregation a farce as said previously, my only concern is what could have happened if we had won, having to walk the lenght of Post Office Road to get to the coaches, it would not have been a great prospect. Best Team won on the day, but not the end of the world. Lets get back on track with a good win on Sunday.

abused by local numptons and got out of car to sort em out but was ushered back
by other fax fans.As Brew said we endured bottle throwing children on way in too.

As much as it pains me, all the above are reasons that I will NEVER attend a game again at POR and give my money to that club.

Hopefully it's a one off, due to the building work.

Once the new stands are up, I imagine one will permanently be designated for away fans (if they choose not to mingle) and there will be proper access to the car park.

As for the numpty at the far end of Post Office Road, I walked past him just as he was starting to goad the 'fax cars. Deeply embarassing and this lone p1llock could quite easily have started a riot. I rushed my kids away ASAP.

Please don't tar us all with the same brush as this retard, most of us are decent human beings, not cave trolls.

each to their own Chris. I know some rovers fans who will not visit the Shay ever again... simply due to comments such as yours. As I say, each to their own - I can't get into that tit for tat stuff either!
It would be a valuable waste of precious seconds of my life to try and convince you otherwise so I'll just live with your comment.

Me? Well I prefer to meet up and take the p1zz out of Marillion man and his lad and chew the fat with many others of the Fax faithful - as it happens the overwhelming majority of us fev n fax fans choose to do.

Good craic all round matey. I always have faith in a ginner!! icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

This is a point my mate ging dong has been ranting on about inanely now to whoever he can get to listen to him for more than a minute without feeling suicidal!
Most people want us running downhill second half.... it's twice as bad getting back up the slope to defend... especially for a fat lad!

Well this proves you should both live in the life on mars street and havent played for years unlike me who has had 2 games already this season, well 1 1/2 as got sent off in 1. in the modern game they coach you to go against everything you have ever known and actually run forwards to get on side and not backwards but to look back. The idea being its easier to run forwards than backwards and it is, but still harder to run up hill, so a slope makes no difference. Lost count of the times i have played up hill 1st half on a slopey pitch and though game over only to lose. I once Remember a game V saints at Rovers and we were 20 odd points up at HT going up hill, only for saints to pull it back and win. I often hear fans going on about the Post Office Road slope it really makes no difference whatsoever

Depends how much ball you have and whether the ref takes you back 10. I used to love playing down hill, you could always get on a roll and defending didnt matter too much when the refs arnt usually fit enough to get back up the hill their selfs.

So you managed to get sent off at HT in one game, 1 and a half games ???? LOL

Suggy, i reckon you got sent off on purpose anyway, was it a free bar that day, or didn't you want the lads to see you using the crabs cream after showering ?

I can relate to what you're saying 'cos when our lad was on scholarship at Bradford, they had them getting back onside running sideways but facing play at the same time. No wonder there's so many serious injuries nowadays.
