Quote: Hudd-Shay "Another huge game coming up this weekend. We need to get over there in force and help the boys get over the line and bring back the two points. We need to have three straight wins going into the Fev match and then make a massive push to market that game as the biggest of the season and get a big crowd down to help halt our bad home run against Rovers. Firstly though are Swinton who are hitting a bit of form and will provide a stern test for us as always. Let's all do our bit and get behind the team on Sunday. I'll go for Lions 12v38 Fax. Up The Fax!'"

Spot on. Score may be a little closer but any win will do against this lot who seem to up their game against us everytime we play them.

Scrappy game after the injury delay (I hope he's not as badly injured as it looked) but a solid display from the boys, and they looked to be focused on winning and not letting Swinton score again, even when the game was obviously in the bag. We badly need someone to replace Muzza when he finally does hang his boots up - his exit from the field was noticeable in that we did seem to lack direction with him on the sidelines.

I've never seen so many forward passes penalised in a game, most of which were line balls or marginally forward (and not usually given). Ditto with the head shots - most were technically high tackles, but a lot would have been let go by other refs. Another reason for a scrappy game at times.

We looked shot at the end of the game - no doubt a hangover from last weekend's game? We need to win the next couple of games, but time for some rotation as well because we have three tough games in a row then, two of which we will probably need to win to get in the top 4.

After such a convincing win it’s hard to be hard.
However, first and last 20 mins were not the best but a good 40 mins in between with some cracking try’s.

Yes the composure for the final pass went astray when Muzza left but still many positives. Chester butler for me is surely going to attract SL attention with his recent performances. Thought Ben Heaton went very well again today . Still think we over complicate attack moves but with more confidence it will come . Feel positive for the remaining games so long as the team switch on and realise the impact if they don't reach the top 4. Support from fax was more than 50 % of the attendance which was good to see.

Our support was good today, albeit a bit more subdued due to the opposition and the scrappy play. What I didn't like though, were the chants/songs having a go at the Swinton fans. The taxi chants and going down with Bradford (especially as they're nailed on for coming back up) were a bit uncalled for IMO. Give them credit, they were still urging their team on when 30-odd points down. We should concentrate on supporting our own team, and stop the sniping in the stands. A bit of banter is great, but provocation is a bit different and unnecessary.

Each to their own, but I thought it was a bit embarrassing today. Do you really get some enjoyment taking the mickey out of a team that's likely to be relegated this season? I've followed Fax for over 40 years through thick and thin, and I've had a good few laughs on a night out or two as well. We should be known as a set of fans that supports their team, not ones that try to come up with songs to take the pi$$ out of the opposition. We should be better than that.

You really need to lighten up, Sparky. It's all so very harmless. Much worse things happen in life.

That's very true, and I'm possibly being a tad OTT about this.

I thought it was wrong. You thought I was being a bit sensitive. I reiterated that that I thought it was a bit out of order. You told me to lighten up.

Bottom line, we both support the blue 'n' white. All the best and on to Batley next weekend!

hear hear, sparky. You've just beat me on the length of support. First for me was a 12-0 victory against Batley in '79. ATB.

Well said. eusa_clap.gif I don't think the chants you mention are the worst of it though, there's the cheering when we injure an opposition player, the language used I thought was uncalled for and although you expect a bit of industrial language at games, today was not the sort of atmosphere you want kids around. As you say we should stick to getting behind our team and having a following we can be proud of lets leave trying to be the most hated to Fev.

As for the game its starting to click now and its just a case of keeping winning. For me we look to have the best squad of players in the group of teams we are in and Marshall has done a great job of keeping the squad fresh while other teams struggle to get players on the pitch. We are more than capable of winning all our remaining games and taking 2nd place.

Must admit I was a bit embarrassed today with some of the un-called for chanting and 'p' taking of the Swinton fans and players and language. Not really appropriate for for the children and families we are trying to encourage to come back and support us. As a Fax fan of 50+ years I don't really want to hear or see that coming into the Fax set up. Don't mind banter and I am happy to give it as well as take it but I am also a past player and like to think I played in the true spirirt of the game where RESPECT was a big part of my vocabulary. That's to fans, players, and officials of the opposition (and the ref) win lose or draw. Let's all have a sing song and a laugh but not at the expense of those not as fortunate as us(believe me I know what it feels like when Fax were on the receiving end of such jibes-not nice)
Good luck to Swinton for the rest of the season and I hope their centre gets well soon.

Missed the incident but saw it put on report, were any of our players at fault ? didn't hear any nasty banter from terraces other then when their second row Lloyd instigated it....
