SL is just like a fairground at night. It may look all glitzy and exciting ,a place of glamour where all want to be. The reality is the fairground is deep in debt, dirty and poor managed. But the show must go on and so the lies, deceit and acting go on to hide the reality. Everything is done to cover up the truth. SL is the same. All the glitz shown bt SKY and the RFL covers up for many that SL is not as good as is promoted. Clubs are still ran poorly and running up debts. Clubs lie about stadium plans and balance sheets just to keep the false dream alive. To be honest I am happy where Fax are and not trying to live the dream that we cant afford. Its just a matter of time before the next SL club ends up in severe financial trouble.

Its a made up valuation of players under contract under the age of 24. There is an equivalent revaluation reserve as the compensating accounting entry.

It has no impact on the profit and loss account at all.

Its ONE year of making a loss in the last 7 years. A loss in a season which has seen a drop of over 2000 on the average gate due to poor on field performances due to a having a poor coach.

13 games, average price of about £17, times 2000 = £442000, a lot more than the £300k loss.

The coach has been replaced, investment in the team has been made, those fans will return and some more.

But if you want to talk about burying heads in the sand, you keep on thinking its Red Hall conspiring against what is essencially a failing RL team in Halifax.

Halifax have had their years mostly in the 80's, so have hull.

we are not a failing club, we are a club with proud fans, proud directors, and players proud to wear the blue and white.

we are a club who achieve fantastic financial results on a next to nothing budget compared to 'duper league'.

we run to our means, and have done everything the RFL want from us, but we know at the minute our face doesnt fit in the top league, AT THE MINUTE.

but when afew of the top tier teams start to crumble, who will the RFL be thinking of? Halifax? good chance.

i am happy going into a season expecting to be challenging for honours.
