Quote: littlerich "OK. Bit of research and I can have 2 games of bowling and two pints. And then I'd have to walk home cos I've no money left for a taxi or bus fare.

I'd rather watch Halifax RLFC.

I can't lift the heavy bowling balls anyway.'"

the danger is you get used as a bowling ball, and were do they put there fingers

Ouch Indeed, the three fingered salute is a scary thought.

Seriously though, you can go bowling anytime you want to,if you choose sunday when the rugby is on then clearly you've not much interest in the rugby anymore

I think he's referring to Flat or Crown Green Bowling.

To be able to afford to go and watch Fax and sit in the East stand next season you will have to save 28.6p a day extra to afford the £2.
Great game great club and worth every penny!!!

Halifax Electric bowl. £9 for two games of bowling and £5 for a jug of Beer. On 2015 prices you have £3 left for some food.

Each to his own, mate. Much as I like bowling I'd rather go and watch Fax. My other passions are MotoGP, which would cost me about £60 and Clay Pigeon Shooting, which costs me around £40. So watching Fax is a bargain really.

Anyway, it seems that all you have to do to cure a Rugby_Aholic is to put the price up by a couple of quid. I wonder if that works with Alc_Aholics as well.....or maybe Nat isn't addicted after all.

If you actually read my posts I have never suggested I am stopping going. I have a season ticket and have every year, however the club can't get by on the hardcore fans. They need new and returning fans. My point (that everyone seems to be ignoring) is why would a new or returning fan choose to come to a Fax game instead of countless other attractions that cost less for more.

Whilst the cost is something of an issue I personally think that value for money is more important and hopefully next season I will be paid back for what I've lost out on in the last couple of years.

I see both sides of this argument, I have already said on this topic that the increase doesn't bother me, but as I say I can see others points.
No one should doubt Nats love and commitment for Fax, he was just pointing out that some people might be put off by the increase in prices.
I would happily pay more for match day admittance but then Halifax RLFC is the only hobby I have that costs me money (sad? Yes I know)
For £143 I can see all the home games plus additional perks.
But, I understand that those casual supporters might find admission costly.
What we need is a flying start, I understand we have already sold three times as many season tickets than last year, that might convince the floaters to return.
But, the new mellow halifaxjohn says don't knock someone for having a fair point to make.
Valium 20mg Mmmmmmm.

Quote: halifaxjohn "Worse season in years?
How many years?
Punters rapidly dropping in numbers?
As with all clubs.
More competition added to an already competitive division?
Must be good for us, at least Bradford will bring the biggest gate to the Shay since the World Cup.
Put the prices up? by £2? good value, just have half a pint less at the game.'"

Sorry for the late reply John.

Yes, I would say it's the worst season we've had in years & because you asked for the exact number I believe it's four (but it depends what you believe it a successful season of course).

2010 - Finished 2nd & won the Championship final.
2011 - Finished 6th & lost in the NR cup final to Leigh.
2012 - Finished 3rd & won the NR cup final.
2013 - Finished 3rd & reached no finals (lost in semi final against Sheffield).
2014 - Finished 3rd & reached no finals.(lost in quarter final against Dewsbury).

I also don't think I need to provide facts that the attendances have dropped as it's pretty obvious. I also don't think the same applies for all the teams either.

You do say Bradford & London add more competition to a already competitive league, which correct.... but did we compete last season without them?

I think the exact quote was "more sold than during the same period last year".

I wish I knew how many have been sold.

I've bought mine anyway.
