46669_1419854573.jpg And Behold, a pale horse. And on his back his name was death.

| Quote: Faxhali "Absolutly, Its utter rubbish that you can't comment unless your coming down and showing us you can do it better for free in your own time that Irks me, Yes the club and fans appreciate the work that goes in but why shouldnt comments be passed, lets carry on regardless and watch us reach the Dizzy heights of Batleys crowds, After all the team isnt performing, Oh and i made a comment about the smoking ban will put people off coming to watch and a few weeks after the crowds are even lower, I was told " its nothing to do with the club ". Surely when it impacts on the money taken in gate fee's its everything to do with the club and the council could be approached as to find out why and communicate this to fans. I still feel deep down that we might turn the season around with a GF. We just need some inspiration, both on and off field. New York was a great idea but planning it for a Whitehaven game might have been the Bananna skin there, Fev would have been better for getting the crowds up. Next season is the biggest in recent history for this club and i dont feel we have gone forward at all. I agree with Justthebasicfax, things have gone stale and not just the Kit.'"
Faxhali, all council owned property's are No Smoking Zones.
I don't smoke, dislike passive smoke and don't understand why someone can't go 90 minutes without a fag.
(no puns please)
BUT, I do see your point and would have thought that an area could be set aside for smokers, perhaps the car park inside the South Stand turnstiles.
Last home game I saw the silly sight of the stewards walking to the back of that car park to tell someone to extinguish their cig. (not the stewards fault)
I just wonder if it's some silly health and safety issue, eg claim culture re passive smoking, as the bloke said "I can hardly burn down a concrete stand" fortunately he took it in good spirit.
Mind you think ourselves lucky if we go to watch Town we can't have a pint.
As for not going forward, yes so far our season has been disapointing by our standards, early Cup exit, early NRC exit and some poor games.
BUT we are 3rd, heading for a Grand Final v Leigh
I honestly think that big things are happening behind the scenes, as I have said before I don't think a business man of Mr Abbots caliber would back a losing cause.
Lets get there on Sunday, it's a big day.

| For me and I've criticised the club before its about being realistic in our expectations of what can / can't be achieved. We have a dedicated BOD who have done wonders for the club with little assistance cash wise. We have a number if volunteers who do steller work FOC etc. However I do see why justthebasicsfax has asked the question about the back office potential. Things like communication can always be improved in any business, better relationships can be built, business can be refreshed and revitalised with a few changes and Fev are prime examples of this. Nobody in my opinion is criticising the club. I do agree that elements of the club have become quite stale and fresh ideas are welcome. When I was involved with the Trust the hardest thing we used to find was people who were willing to help and give us their time. We have dozens of keyboard warriors who are willing to voice opinions and criticise the club. I regularly used to ask on here for help and the odd one or two would help and we were grateful but we could of achieved so much more. This is probably true of the office, with more money we'd have more staff etc and I know these guys work on very small wages so to even think about replacing them is hard enough as you'd never get anybody to do the job and be dedicated for so little. Sadly money makes the world go round and our sport is barely keeping afloat. I agree improvements can be made so if your passionate about it offer some help. These issues seem like easy fixes but they're not without cash. Which is why Tonys extra cash is fabulous as it could just help the club push forward on this front.

| As justthebasicfax falls down the ladder like an end of season run in for the Fax (and the posts go slightly off topic), I hope this subject has turned a few supporters heads.
I'm glad it's not turned sour or personal and I hope that people haven't taken their bat home either. No-one likes being critised I know, especially when they're giving up their own free time and understably feel they are contributing to the cause.
However, there is this perception amongst some fans that some of the backroom staff are part of the fixtures and fittings no matter which coach or players keep coming through that revolving door. Is that healthy or conducive for a club with supposedly SL ambitions?
If the, 'Access all areas' passes were withdrawn, the kit would still get washed, laid out and picked up. They'd be some changes but like everything else, life would carry on. Fans should be in the stands and the pro's in the dug-out. I'm not remotely suggesting this is the reason for the poor season but I am suggesting its not helping and a change might not be a bad thing.
It may be great getting 10 tables of 8 full, and a nice cosy Sunday afternoon in the East Stand but the fans are voting with their feet, theres more atmosphere in Harveys Restaurant than there is in the South Stand at the minute.
I can't believe how bad this season has got and yes I know there's a long way to go. I've been so dissapointed with our player recruitment, man-mangement of players and tatics.... does anyone know if KH enjoys being the coach of Halifax? As someone who stands on the terraces he cuts a distant figure and comes across as a bit of a grump.....it's not working out is it.
We can debate all we want but ultimately it's the decision of the owners and directors to decide how the football club is run. We've got the stadium, we've got the coporate side of things up and running but it's what happens in those 80 minutes that matters the most, everything else should fall in to place.
The little debate that we've just had is one that's been long overdue.

Wooh, you have done it now!
True though we have as a club under achieved for years and there has to be a reason for that no matter what some people think so change might be needed.

| Wow - just returned from my jollies and cannot believe how JTBF has been attacked in this way for voicing his opinion. This simply underlines the cronyism that exists at the club.
A number of weeks ago JTBF and I were debating the dramatic slump in form having attended a woeful showing from the boys in a local WMC and some local well-informed opinion from previously long-standing (ex) Fax fans drove home to me how corrosive such cronyism can be notwithstanding how well-intended people's opinions or action were intended to be.
Regardless of this issue, someone has to stop the rot on the field and as asked earlier, does KH even enjoy his job?
Without naming names, someone who is no longer at the club said to me recently "good luck to Fax as they will need it" adding, "I wish I could explain more about what is going on there as you don't know the half of it".
Draw from that what you will.
Love from a saddened and dejected fan of 30 years.

I was told that Tony Abbott is an alien. He was so impressed with the athletic ability of the Fax team early in the season he sent them to his mother ship and replaced them with clones. Those clones have since started to deteriorate and therefore not performing as they were.
Seu-Seu told me that

Rewrite, without naming names, someone told ME.

No longer at the club but knows what is going on?
Unbelievable.

| No need to elaborate further other than it was somebody very familiar with the current set up. Good win today however so I hope everybody has stopped sulking now.

| And John having re-read your post, I hope you are right, I truly do so good on yer.
Conjecture can be as corrosive as cronyism so take what I offered originally with a pinch of salt too.
Knowing JTBF very well, he doesnt have a nasty bone in him so I am sure he meant no harm.

| Well that was an interesting read, I don't think I know JTBF but it sounds like he was n't having a go a particularly but is just upset at what he's seeing on the pitch, and he's not alone.
I for one would liked to have seen a young coach (Dunemann would have been a good shout) but it didn't happen. The thing is that in my opinion we have gone backwards on the field and this must be firmly placed at the feet of the coaching staff. I can't think of anybody who has improved in the last 2 years either and that is very worrying because off the pitch the club has moved forward.
The question now is where do we go from here and to progress I think the coaching needs to be looked at, if we bring in top players will they just be given a drive and kick gameplan? Who knows, but please ask the question before it is too late and we end up with another towelling in front of nobody in South Yorkshire.

I thought this one had been put to bed, however if you go back to the original post it is the attack on the backroom staff that angered most people,

| Fair enough, we should all be able to get along for the common good of the Fax but there will always be disagreements, though I fully support the excellent work done by the backroom team.
