I'd say were a strike centre (Nanyn'esc), a genuine hooker and a replacement for Handforth away from being genuine contenders, father time and injuries have caught us out this year, I'll be looking for Lee and Karl to get some variations in attack for the rest of the year, give it our best and see how far we can get, we can still turn over anyone in this league, can we sustain that for a few games though...
If were gonna smash it up the middle were gonna need to be flawless, disciplined, controlled and must break tackles, we cant rely on oppositions having an off day. Getting good quick ball to Divorty and Manning out wide has got to click.

Nanyn just scored for Swinton.
Another couple of games under his belt and he could be ready for a return to you lot

Cheers for the update, he has a knack of getting good angles and on people, with Rob outside him and Divorty on his inside shoulder, we may yet get something going....
Glad hes done well for Swinton, for Fax, Nanyn and Swintons sake...

Jeez... 26-12 and losing to a side we've easily put 50 past at home. Injuries not an excuse nor is the fixture list. Other sides have to tough it out but yet again KH and his side come out wanting. Questions need to be asked in my opinion.

Maybe forcing the Leigh game to Wednesday has backfired, we were poor today running on an empty tank and could easily have lost too - God help us at Sheffield on Friday

Most definitely. Leigh were on their 'arris in May, both financially and on the field and they've just leapfrogged us in the table. How does that even happen? We seem to have a bonus point allergy too - nothing seems to trigger their brains that whilst losing is bad, at least come away with that awful charity point that the RFL have deemed fit to introduce. We can't even do that.

The only acceptable statement that Harrison can come out with is that there is a crisis in the camp and that we need to press some sort of panic button. Anything short of that is just an acceptance that we are actually just a fifth placed team because guess what? - Batley will be next to leapfrog us. Perhaps I allowed my expectations to run away at the start of the season.

Midweek game would not have helped, doubt Fax would have failed to win at Barrow otherwise. Leigh looked 'out of sorts' today, 22 points in the 1st twenty minutes of the 2nd half won it for us. But we made 'loads' more handling errors than Swinton Wolves.

Harrison will spout his usual drivel that its not good enough, tired bruised bodies etc etc.... However personally I think as much as we've made certain strides off the field and he's undoubtably Halifax through and through he's taken the team backwards in 2 years and are equally inconsistent and roll over too easily. I just don't think he's capable to do anything about it... Ultimately it's his player recruitment that's got us here. My only hope is we've done a Widnes and been saving some dollar as we'd ticked the box already. Now that it looks like p&r is returning and the top 2 next season will get a fair wedge to increase budgets etc I'm hoping Harrison has been bluffing these last 2 years!! If he ain't we are in the doo....

Time for Karl Harrison to show us he is a top coach and knows what he is doing. No disrespect to Barrow, but we should be beating them. I dont want to hear excuses, I want to see Harrison and the Coaching staff getting the best out of the players-something that for me has not really happened since Karl started. The team on the field is standing still and looks clueless. Why is that Karl? Why are we so slow and clueless in attack Karl? What are you going to do to change things? No more excuses. lets see some action or get a new coach in, if the problems cant be solved by Karl. I am not going to go over the top and say sack him, but Karl needs to show everybody why we picked him as coach on good money

I think it's impossible to tell what the landscape will be like in 2015 apart from the fact that there will be opportunities for clubs not in SL to better their position and join the top ranks. When Cas/Hull KR/Widnes/Salford escaped from this league we SHOULD have taken their berth at the top but we've fallen short. When those clubs were down here with us Featherstone and Sheffield were nowhere near the top. Now they've leapfrogged us with ease. Frustrating.

It's not disastrous. We're not dying. We're still a top Championship club. But when people talk about the teams vying for that progression through the 3x8 playoffs I don't think we're in the mix. We're just coming up short. It's great that we've had success with the GF win and the NRC but we're just not consistent enough. Another damp squib end of season fayre will see us struggling to attract 1,500 next year and that brings it's own problems. It's a tough old game innit?

I think Nanyn should be in the team. He is fit & scoring at Swinton.

I would also rest Murrell now till the play offs if he is not fit.
His hand is giving him problems & is not getting stuck in.
The fit and buzzing Murrell rubs off on the rest of the team.
I also think Walker & Holden should be brought into the squad.
Handforth looks finished, almost resigned to the fact he will not be playing next year.

I for one hope we don't do a Widnes, or we are in for a bleak next 2 years. icon_surprised.gifops:

Mick's put on a 'lot of weight' since I last saw him, understandable though, given the time he's been out injured. But when he received the ball 5 yards from the line, NO-ONE was keeping him out...Menzie Yere style !

Mr.Steel in this weeks RL press talks about the funding for the sides that finnish in the top two in the run up to the new P&R proposals, £400.000 is the figure quoted and is linked with going full time
I haven't got the paper with me now but will post what he says later today for better accuracy.

Very interesting and fits in with what has been said about ramping up the pressure on the club to be competative next year to be in with a shout to get them spots.
