I said it should be the season's last game. The idea of having the double header was so it wasn't played out on tv with a sea of empty seats. It didn't work and yes, I was aware it sold out. Up The Fax!

| I thought having a double header was a good idea, maybe garner a few people who usually watch something else on t v at that time.
Agree the CC should be the culmination of the season, RL s big day out, but since SL it is the Old Traffoed night out that takes the honours.

The problem is that fans just want to watch their own team's game.
So the stadium looks half full for both games - just different seats occupied.
Same problem at Magic and the Bash.

| A double header can attract plenty of neutrals. The old Premiership Final (the actual end of the season) did well as a double header and attracted healthy crowds to Old Trafford.

| The trouble is, with all the negative publicity surrounding the game, people are very disillusioned with RL and can find plenty of other things to spend their hard earned brass on. To think of selling out a 28,000 capacity football ground for two games between four clubs is an achievement tells you where we are at as a sport. Fax are a perfect example. We regularly got more support for 2nd team games at Thrum Hall than the 1st team attracts now. Sad times but we carry on. Up The Fax!

Suppose it's OK if you've got two adults and two kids in your party.
Not everyone has.
Personally, I think the future is something like a prepaid credit card. You charge it up with, say £100, maybe adds on £10 or summat as a bonus, then you use it to buy tickets. Bit like an Oyster card on London Transport.
However, technologically, we're a fair bit away from that at the moment. But we are approaching the cashless society. I saw somebody buy a pint of milk using a contactless card a couple of weeks ago. 52p - the supermarket probably got charged 25p or summat for that so that's their profit gone.
