Reckon they'll stay the distance in first half but then tire for second.

| My expectations of this season , with a new coach and the changes that this brings, was that 1,2 and 3 would be the fulltimers, with the 4th spot being fought out for by a few clubs, us being one. I guess, being in 5th at the moment is roughly where I expected, given that we also lost to Featherstone. I still see us improving as the season progresses, and may be able to pick off a game later in the season against the top ones, but to keep ahead of the chasing pack and the 4th spot is still a possibility.
Where I worry is for next season, if Sheffield and Featherstone are full time next season, along with London, and whoever is left in our league after the million pound game, we need to be working hard on getting together a full time squad in order to not be left lagging behind. I know this comes at a price and more financial input is needed to do this.

Ian, I think you might be right about that, Lloyds are pushing the "Halifax" as their flagship brand at the moment.
However, I wonder how big a sponsorship deal would be, they won't pay mega bucks for a patch on the shirt sleeves and would Reactive want to be taken of the front of the shirts?

I'd be surprised if the sponsorship amounted to a great deal as that is not really how Lloyds seems to work, very London based but it may be that the a Halifax side is pushing it. Who knows but I do hope that it comes through and enables us to be more competitive.

Sincere apologies I have misquoted my source, not "flagship brand" but "challenger brand"
I hope that clears it up.

| The question is if we had lost to London with KH in charge would we have been disappointed or surprised? Im not sure we would have, but this season I were both and truly expected us to win. We are not a million miles away and the set up down at the club is night and day different to when KH was in charge and we can not fail to improve under RM, I just know it.

I agree, I think we need a couple of decent signings or loan deals, an half back & centre in my opinion. We are not finishing our chances that the pack are creating.

Under Karl I would have expected to lose at London, under Richard I honestly thought we would win and win we should have done.
At 12 6 up I remarked that we would have to do something stupid to lose. I was so convinced we would win by my prediction of 20.
Well we did do something stupid more than once.
I like the way we are going it's just a shame that it might take longer than we expected.
A tough start for a new coach with Karl's squad, Leigh, Fev, London away Bradford away, and then Wakefield away in the cup.
We are more professional now than recent years and I believe we will improve.
Rumour has it that we are more financially stable than previous years.
As Greg says we can not fail to improve under Richard.
And we can play out part, support home and away.
Seen plenty of posts saying "not going, not paying that price, not putting money into that club etc" The players need to see taht we are behind them home and away.
Mind you I'm not going tomorrow, why pay that price to see us get ar-d?
See you all there, The good clean living lads in Blue and White Hoops to win by 20.

I've not really seen enough of Taylor to judge his strengths etc but imo Heaton & Tyrer are both good in defence but can't pass well in attacking positions, this makes our wingers almost obsolete & reduces our chances of scoring.

| To be fair KH was never going to be coaching how to draw a man and pass, with his background and era he came from, and this is still his team selection, don't forget, with the exception of a couple of players. We haven't had any 'class' centres for ages that are going to have the opposition back peddling and create space for the wingers, I am sure with the more expansive game we are playing that will be addressed in the future.

Ahhh centres, SL has spoiled this position by thinking that 2nd rowers and centres are interchangeable, poor centres maybe but a good centre will win you many, many games more than any 2nd rower. The centre position is why we find it so difficult to. Beat the Aussies, we have none and they keep rolling them out.
Rant on the state of the game over, come on the Fax.
