So probably 5 starters in Potts, Tonks, Robinson, Heaton and Johnson.
Conditions were really bad so its hard to draw conclusions about the game. I would hope we will be a lot better on dryer grounds and Batley had the dual regs missing which showed.
Defence looked really good but Batley didnt really offer much, partly due to the conditions and I would assume been a few new combinations for them.
The real test to have an idea where we are will be next week against Fev. Sheffield and Fev will set the bar again this season so it will be interesting to see how we go.
Edit: Worst catcher of a ball I have seen, rivaling Liam Harrison, was Said Tamghart. Destructive when he had the ball but unless it was placed in his hands was like watching coco the clown juggling.
Quote: littlerich "Just slightly O/T - anyone remember Dick Fairbank trying to catch passes? If you didn't put it EXACTLY in his bread basket he used to knock on. He even used to pre-shape his arms (upper and lower forearms) at right angles in the catching position as he came in on a run. Used to crease me up
Was once in the cricket club and Jack Fairbank was in there, good old Stan H came in and asked him if Dick dropped the cows all the time He then trotted off with his pipe muttering something like big useless bugger

Going back a little further, Welshman David Jones who played centre late sixties would steam onto the pass so hard and fast he always broke the line, shame he only caught about one in ten passes. Still managed two caps for Wales and was a loss to Fax when he returned home.
