Quote: Birchy "I am also considering whether to come to the shay again next season, as animosity between both sets of fans is bad enough, but I'm not gong to put £18 + Into a club whose fans hold ALL fev fans with such low disregard.'"

We all hold ALL your fans in low regard, do we? I have to disagree there, fella. But, it is your choice, and you are entitled to it.

Quote: gingdong "You know out of all the people that post on here you annoy me the most, Just after the grand final the then Rovers director Martin Overton posted on here about getting some kind of fans charter for the next time we played to try and nip in the bud any bad feeling, he did it with the best of intentions, he got slated for it and one of the worst was YOU. The bloke was genuinely trying his best and thats what this thread is about but again gets turned into a slagging match, so why dont we keep to the title and try and think of a way forward.
What about a fans tag match before the next game, or even all forum posters meet in a pub for a drink and a chat before the next game, there must be some people with good ideas out there, lets talk about them'"

Just to clarify I was not a director then, just a very concerned supporter like I am now. I was a Director from December until a couple of weeks ago. Not long I know!

We need to unite as I said on the other thread... I think a tag game is a very good idea. I am certainly up for it.... but let's mix the teams. None of this is about us and them.

I would also just like to point out that the club are trying. I was on the board when we did put in place extra measures for the league game. Widely criticised on here, but applauded by Neil Arbour (sorry if the spelling is wrong).

Also, the other night the Featherstone CEO was in the middle of it all pleading with people to stop, putting his own well being at risk. I beleive he then boarded the Halifax supporters bus to speak to people. Of course this never gets mentioned, but be assured that he will do everything possible to find out and severly punish those who were involved on Thursday night.

Finding proof has always been the problem to routing out the bad eggs. I think we have now reached a watershed. I have seen a change in Featherstone Fans this week and I am sure they will start speaking out and giving names to the club and police.

I wish every Fax fan well, actually they are a team I have a soft spot for, since my first Wembley visit as a young lad in 1988 and being sat amongst the Fax fans. The atmosphere lives with me to this day.

If I make it to the final, I hope to see some of you there, where beleive it or not I will be cheering for a Yorkshire team that plays in Blue and White against them from over the hills who wear red.

If you were to read pinball wizard's quotes you would imagine you were wading into bagdad when you came to featherstone. This trouble is recent and has only been an issue since the grand final.

I know it's bad RFF but I can't be going there when I have been tarred with the same brush as those idiots. It hurts the clubs and the sport, but if they are draining money from my club, then I'm only giving my to the members of the rugby league 'family' who support us. I go to every away match apart from toulose, but I seriously doubt I'll be driving to the shay until things return to normal between the clubs. I'm so angry about the whole event, but I'm even more angry with the venomous 'let's have a dig at fev' bandwagon that's arrived. We should be celebrating a great 2 year rivalry not staying away but I can't in good faith strengthen the coffers of fax while they weaken ours.

Best of it is I don't even live in Fev but i drive in from sheffield to see rovers play.

Fair do's Birchy - I do understand mate! There is a growing number of right minded folk I know who are intending to do exactly the same as yourself re future games at the Shay.
Unfortunately mate, it's right folk that are the ones making the decision to stay away - and for exactly the same reason! Sad. Very sad.

TS is right there Birchy, he and many other Halifax fans had got in contact about my family and I's well being.

They have actually helped Featherstone in many ways and I thank then for that.

Sorry Martin i thought you were a director at the time.
I do hope the club dont just take the word of someone ringing up annonymously and giving names and actually have evidence as well, its very easy to pick a phone up and gives someones name and there are some vindictive people out there that would give someones name they didnt like.
Lad i know got his door booted in, in the early hours of the morning and arrested, in front of his family over the Warrington incident, all because some person gave a statement to the police, assuming it would be him, he got released because he wasnt anywhere near at the time and the police realised that. Amazing as it sounds its that easy to stitch someone up

Sadly, I know the above incident to be true!
I believe issuing a mobile number for people to contact immediately if they see any trouble is a step in the right direction. However, I am cautious.
Say I couldn't abide the living sight s of you, and saw you screaming at the opposition players as you do - e.g.Mick Nanyn, Smithy etc Does one phone call alleging that suggy is being racist/homophobic/aggressive/abusive etc (even tho there is no other corroboration) result in you being expelled from the ground and perhaps banned or even lifted??
I'm all for pro-active action - Jeez, we need it. But we need to be careful how we proceed. We need to get it right! It is so important we do!

The next time we play Featherstone at Featherstone all our party, except my 6 year old grandson will go.
We will arrive in time for a couple of drinks upstairs and leave peaceably WIN OR LOSE afterwards. All I ask is that the police, police Post Office Road as we leave.

When we play Featherstone at the Shay, I expect all Featherstone fans to be there, even the very young, WIN OR LOSE you will be able to enter and leave the ground safely.

That just about sums up my position as well.

I would like to go back to POR again, but i don't feel it would be safe for my 5 and 10 year old daughters, i for 1 DO NOT blame all fev fans, and i feel sorry for the true supporters as it is just a SMALL section of so called fans (if you can call them that) who are spoiling the great name of your club.

Hopefully things will get sorted and if we meet in the play offs, i will feel safe to come and support my team with my family

It's a bloody shame that people are a bit apprehensive about supporting their team away from home. I'll be visiting Post Office Road, and I haven't seen any trouble there in my couple of visits. Maybe because we have a good travelling support, I'm not sure. The same goes with The Shay, I feel safe there just as much as I do at any other ground in the Championship.

I hope the two sets of fans can sort out something in soon, because you're just ruining the game for each other.

I'm afraid it's not TWO sets of fans who need to sort themseves out and it's only one set of fans spoiling the game.

Go away troll.

The people on both forums, us and fev are nothing but true supporters and are not spoiling anything for anyone, The minority of Idiots that get involved in fighting becuase they can't handle losing or cant handle the booze are spoiling it, I wouldn't generalise and label all fans of either club, neither should you.

as the late great jacko said..........BEAT IT !!!!
