| a busy tourist destination
What tourist destination?
Would this be the land of make believe, where they have a shiny new stadium and a team that can compete in Super league?

| Think the busy tourist destination being referred to is the Xscape and junction 32 shopping village-live and work local to this and would hardly call it tourist destination unless your idea of tourism is shopping and fake snow!

Like it or not xscape itself has an average of 50,000 visitors a week, with 80,000 in holiday period, junction 32 also brings in large number of visitors.

Eureka in Halifax has squillions of visitors a year. This has diddly squat to do with HXRLFC - nor does it make Fax a tourist destination. What is the relevance of xcape or whatever to either of the Wakefield clubs?

Is it next door to the halifax ground, as i recall it isnt, if tourist come to a destination, then it is surely a tourist destination? call it a visitor attraction instead if you want, the point is millions of visitors a year will be visiting where the new stadium is going to be, and if you look at the context of where i brought it up i was saying that the new pub/resteraunt the stadium will have plenty of people going past it, even if only a fraction go in for a drink or something to eat that will still create alot of revenue for the club (as well as local drinkers and matchday income).
The fact that there is more to do in the immediate vacinity of the stadium thatn is the case for any other rl stadium, in the northern hemisphere should alsoattract more away fans and there families.
So thats what it has to do with castleford.

| Just out of interest, of the 4 clubs promising new stadia for 2012, have any of them actually laid a brick in anger ? I'm not talking about the endless 'ground levelling', document signing, press releases and propoganda, I'm talking bricks and mortar.

2011?
I will keep this post in my little archive. You've got four months to come up with an explanation as to why you haven't started it at that point (or rather your club will). I guarantee it - I guarantee it won't be started in April and we'll be back here pondering once more about delays and excuses. You won't be alone - Salford and Wakey will be saying the same things. You'll then have a further two months before the license decisions on the rest of SL are made (Widnes will already have been granted theirs). The RFL are going to kick your neighbours out - then you'll have another 2 years breathing space.
Hasbro are bringing out a board game based on the past 4 year shinnanigans - "Plan a Franchise" - available in all dodgy toy shops

Of course.
I'm not sure how many visiting patrons then go onto buy tickets to watch the Champions though.

No - just been watching Rugby League for the last 30 years, including the ins and outs of the administration of the game also. I've seen enough pictures of smiling chairmen in hard hats and enough fancy dan stadium graphics to last a lifetime.
