well done to the boys and the coaching staff. Really pleased with this. I know its only a nines comp that perhaps not many took too seriously but its a positive and right now thats what we need. hopefully we can kick on from this and get that 2nd spot in the league and move forward to the grand final.

I was there. If you weren't, you missed a real treat today!

Apart from a slow start (again), and a nervous second half in the semi against Swinton, Fax played really well today. They conceded the first try in the final, but then bossed the rest of the game, and defensively (yes!) were awesome against Sheffield.

Winning was great, but the biggest pluses for me were that a) we took it seriously, and b) the Fax players were genuinely, and very visibly, ecstatic with winning the tournament.

Of course we'd have been happier to be playing tomorrow, and hopefully we won't be defending the trophy next season (!), but if there was ever good timing for a confidence boost, this was it!!

Well done to the boys. Enjoy the celebrations tonight - Barrow on Thursday!!

a trophy is a trophy, we have that, it builds the confidence for the run in if nothing else, its not the biggest competition, it gives them the mindset that they can win things if they play well as a team and defend properly.
