RL all the way for me!!!

I started this thread off, and consider myself a "real" RL supporter. I've supported Fax through thick and thin for over 30 years, and would normally have been at Dewsbury on Sunday. On this occasion, however, I'll be watching my Country play, albeit at a different sport, instead. Proud to be a Fax (and England) supporter.

World Cup for me, i can count the games ive missed over the years on one hand, Callands charges have me at my wits end though, if i thought we were onto something i might change my mind but Fax have been going through the motions and not showing pride in the club for a while now. Mug i aint.
Someone needs to go through fax like a dose of salts before well get back to RL winning on world cup days.

Stop posting about it then, go out and get some fresh air, rather than posting the same old boring rubbish on here. You dont like Calland - check - we go that.

I cant relax until were showing some real signs of getting back to being the great club we should be

Footy for me, once every four years we get the chance to be world champions. I would usually go to this away fixture to watch 'Fax, but if Dews don't want to be user-friendly, it's their tough titty. The whole of the RL world can't be wrong in attempting to alter their fixtures so that people don't have to make the choice between going to a match OR watch the footy. Even Yorkshire cricket have brought forward their fixture start time.

Obviously, I hope our boys go and return from Dews with the three points, but on this occasion I have world cup fever.

My season ticket and plane tickets for a week in the south of France must mean that I also am not a real supporter.Still I'm not even a real person.

Can't beat the your not a real supporter comment that frequents these forums, I just picture some smug kid sat in his room proud as punch cos they feel superior now.

Me its footie, as has been said, once every 4 years. Dewsbury have bit their nose off to spite their face, could have moved it IF they wanted to. I reckon a crowd of 627 now, anyone else jumping on this one with me.

Like others I could list several reasons why i am 'real' rl supporter. From my having a season ticket for the past 20 seasons(75% of my life) to being a founder member of the trust; to writing a dissertation on the unjust representation of rl in the media, government and history (including the desecration of French rl by the vichy govt) and sending said paper to major publishing houses and networks and the rl working party; to buying every book I know of written, video made about rl 'just because its about rl'. To attending 2 rugby games the past two Sundays as fax were not playing. I could go on.

I reckon i'm a 'bigger' rl fan than most on here. And I reckon most would say that too. Including all those others choosing the football on Sunday. It's religion. Similarly, I won't be castigated for choosing to watch the football. Enjoy watching the game with the huge burden on your shoulder.

Well said. I too am a loyal supporter, I have followed Halifax for the past 20 years, home and away, in good and in bad times. I do my bit. I am a lottery member, I am a kit sponsor and I watch rugby league both live and on the TV at all possible occasions.

That said I will be watching England play on Sunday and the only loosers here will be Dewsbury (financially).
