Just think theres bigger things to worry about , it's a bit like being in the twin towers at 8am complaining about the price of ink cartridges.

A bit of a daft analogy there, listenup, but hey I hope you enjoy the fans forum with the usual 60 somethings (which in itself tells a story). If the very concerning issue of falling attendances comes up (just 800 against a SL team) primarily because of ticketing prices (7% increase on top of last years 17%), you can always shout from the back of the room "Well it could be worse, we could have been stuck in the twin towers on 9/11" I'm sure that will raise a laugh or 2

| All match day packages not sold once again. We have had volunteers doing a better job than this over the past decade or so.

| These days a lot of things aren’t being taken up or sold out, not just match day rugby packages, from the beginning to end of the chain no matter what it is EVERYTHING is costing a lot more and too much for a lot of people millions of whom are caught up in it all with no say or influence on matters.
This is a global event not just at Halifax Rugby club with the main reasons cited as being COVID and the war in Ukraine.
Despite how a few people on here would try and portray things it’s not the rugby clubs fault COVID came along, Russia invaded Ukraine with the inevitable knock on consequences.
Talking about the past and comparing things to how they were prior to 2019 fails to see what’s happened since then.
The only thing that’s stayed the same is those doing the moaning.

| The booking fee irks me, because until mid to late last season we didn't have one. And advance tickets were advertised as cheaper than on the day. (Season tickets I think are also shown vs match day prices). So cancelling out most of the discount with a booking fee, applied to each ticket isn't great. Isn't the ticketing company a sponsor of sorts? Yet we're paying them!
In all honesty, I generally pay cash on the gate (because unlike a lot of clubs we still haven't got a pay by card facility unless you go to the ticket office, Even Barrow and Whitehaven manage this btw) But by buying in advance, I'm committed to going, as Tony Fax says, some people may do other things on the day, due to weather or just how they feel. And that happens to me.

Did you just blame Covid and the war in Ukraine for whoever is running the commercial side of Fax not been able to sell out match packages? That has to be one of the strangest takes Ive heard in a while.
Couldn't Fax do what previous people selling packages have done like phoning, emailing, visiting previous sponsors and trying to get them interested again? I know this hasn't happened, or if it has its on a really small scale, because none of my group of friends have been contacted in any way. Maybe its too much effort to spend a little time trying to bring thousands of pounds in to the club? Lets not just accept medicoracy.

You can only ask the same people so many times, I'll speak to one of my mates today and see if he's been asked, although think last time he sponsored the matchball they came to him on the Friday!

Exactly, Brew! My rugby buddy is really licking off about the booking fee (do other clubs charge it?) and is refusing to pay it, so there's another lost ticket sale. And with my own reluctance to pay over £20, we've decided to go to the pub on Sunday, look at the line up at 2 o'clock and if Hurrell is included might pop along to watch. But most likely another 2 empty spaces in the South Stand due to the club's bad management.
I also agree about the lack of card paying facilities on the day. Quite ridiculous! Not only are less and less folk carrying cash, but it's also less painful tapping your card than handing over a 20 quid note (plus 2 pound coins )

| And this is it, I'll decide on the day, but if I decide sunday morning to go to the pub, I'm going over to Wakefield, so then rugby isn't happening.
That said, I've not checked if I can get a cheap ticket yet. That may swing things

Yeah most of the time it will be the same answer but they should have a large database of previous sponsors and it should be the first port of call for the club. I know people who didnt even get the courtesy of been asked if they wanted to continue with their sponsorship from the previous season. We have gone from having a commercial side that was the envy of every single club in the Championship to selling match packages in the week leading up to a game. Im sure we will hear some excuses as to why this is the case shortly.

You’re not d about supporting the club you just want a cheap ticket. Happy to go to the pub and spend £20 £30 on beer then come on here and slag the club off for not doing enough to get people through the gates.
It cost a lot of money to run the club and it’s the supports who help with that by attending matches.

I look at the value for money of my day out, I probably got half my tickets last year through a community club, as do most of the people stood around me. I'd possibly spend £20 or £30 on Beer whether I went to the game or not. It's my money, I earn it and will spend it as I wish.
I was at the Thatto Heath game, one of about 700 who bothered, and I went to Sheffield, I missed the Catalan game because I was on holiday although also had a football match that afternoon so would likely have gone there.
I don't disagree that it costs a lot of money to run the club, so you'd think the commercial side of things would be better. Rather than trying to sell the match sponsorship in the week leading up to the game. I think we all know disgruntled former sponsors who either haven't been asked to renew, or have seen the packages they've had previously sold to others sometimes for less money.

No i didn't even use the word BLAME and obviously I wasn't just talking about match day packages,I pointed out that there's a bigger picture and bigger reasons why everything has gone up and why everything is not selling out and a couple of the major reason why it had that aren't connected with or only affecting Fax's commercial department and fan base.
Not everything is someones fault although I accept that some think it is and find it strange to think in any other way.
Everything will have someone who complains about it, it's just that a few will complain about everything.
I'm sure we'll here some excuses for the reasons for their sad personalities shortly.
Since when did you become the judge of what is mediocre and what isn't and are you perfect?
On match day packages the club are offering them privately and through social media as an open invitation to anyone interested.
Almost everyone with any interest in the club use these platforms, don't you and your mates and all know about them about them but how many have taken them up?
You recently knocked the club for mentioning the minimum number of supporters required to break even, as if this was wrong when every club past and present is acutely aware of the importance of attendances.
Now to claim that Fax aren't trying to get people to come to games has to be one of the strangest things I've heard ever to be honest.
As with everything else to be able to sell it people would want to buy it and it's obvious that some are now choosing not to, and some, without knowing the reasons are choosing to BLAME the club when someone does so.
On admission options there are currently season tickets, early in the week tickets with a small saving, cash on the day or card at the ticket office and as above some will choose one of them or none of them.

When you say privately how do you mean? As mentioned previously, I know lots of ex-sponsors who have not been contacted. You can't just bang a post on social media and expect people to be all over it, maybe this is why they have ended up trying to sell packages in the week leading up to games.
You can say this is me moaning but it is also me showing concern at what is happening at the club I have supported all my life. Its business 101 FFS.

Nail on the head. I'd get it to some extent if the club was being run by volunteers but it isn't.

Yep happened to me as well likely for other reasons on other matters but as regarding buying advanced tickets and other things that I lost out on it had the opposite effect and I said "I won't do that again."
Despite what the spin doctors would have people believe nothing is foolproof and guaranteed to be the best option and everything else is below par.
Overall my experiences on things like this is pay on the day covers most things that are unforseen and could go wrong.

Privately means directly.
Social media is in addition to direct contact which as stated is an open invitation to former and new individuals to get involved at various levels, last week they got slated for not advertising in certain areas this weeks their being slated in the areas they are using, nothing ever seems good enough.
To portray the social media efforts as "just banging a post on social media" is just inaccurate and typical of how things are spun every time over what the club does or doesn't do.
I don't know why the club hasn't contacted the people you know but emails, phone calls etc work both ways and all it takes is for someone to pick up the phone and respond to the open invitation and surely when the club is fighting for survival that's not too much to ask from life long supporters?
Regarding this forum I've personally spoken to several at the club past and present and to a man to put it mildly they don't view it as being representative of the club or a place to come for support because of the lifetime of negative comments from certain individuals some of which go way beyond just having a moan.

The club don't like this forum because they have no control over it.
There was a very popular Facebook Group at one point named "Fax Matches", the person behind this was brought into the club in some capacity and it was closed down. The club have a degree of control over the "Fans Forum" on facebook I believe nowm I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it is backed by them
There was a popular independent podcast, the people behind that brought into the club, now there's no podcast.
It might not be representative of the club as a whole, but it represents a section of people's views.

This forum being totally independent proves the point.
That very fact means people on here are free to say whatever they like as often as they like and over time you would expect the law of averages would show the positive mixed in with the negative.
This isn’t the case on here, by freedom of choice the views and comments of a few are constantly critical of the club over anything and everything.
Put what’s been said by some on here on any form of advertising and see how many take up offer.
If no one said anything else in a short period of time there would be just 3 serial moaners, a couple of neutrals and little to no normal general rugby league chat found on other forums.

That's IF they don't like it! How can they see negative posts if they don't read them?
Anyway, I think the opinions on here are valid and I respect each and every one of them, all factual and not moaning. The only moaner on here is the one who constantly moans about the alleged moaners!
