Credit to Sheffield, played an excellent kicking game and looked very entusiastic. This was their big match to get back into contention from their poor start to the season and they needed a win. Aston seems to get his teams up for certain games and this was one of them. A very bad day at the office some players looked as if they'd done a 12 mile run preceeding this match, no spark whatsover. Lets get it out of the way every team will have at least one poor game and now roll on Thurs to put it straight.

Yer it was a tad dissapointing the ref giving the penalty against Penky for 'headhigh' when he missed the man which then lead to their 5th and crucial try but hey think we'd have lost anyway.

Hands up we were rubbish. But every team now plays like Haven against us - spoiling tactics. It's annoying.

Defensively we were shocking - black had his poorest game for fax ; as did most others - at least Worrincy tried to make good yards.

How to beat Halifax ? Get in their faces so they can`t play.
Sheffield deserved the win and sorry I don`t think we deserved a bonus point either.
I thought Worrincy had a good game ,Black had a shocker could have done with going off earlier ,then he could have sorted his head out and wouldn`t have got injured.
Their forwards had ours well beat too and what`s all this about us not being able to play well in the rain ? They are not a bunch of Show Ponies if they can`t play in the rain it`s time to pack in.

We were always going to lose a match lets hope this is the only one.

Our players do make life hard for themselves a lot of the time, even in games we win. Today we'd just got back to 16-16, Thamgart takes the ball up from the kick off, he's got 4 men around him so tries a ridiculous offload and we lose the ball. People will say this is how we play and we have to expect mistakes with the style we play but maybe we have to learn when to adapt to the conditions/circumstances and play a different style.

Then with about a minute or 2 to go Paterson tries a little chip over the top and Sheffield catch the ball and then go down the other end and score again to deny us a bonus point. Even if we had regained the ball and scored there wouldn't have been enough time for us to score again.

I'm disappointed we lost but not surprised, think we got out of jail at Barrow and Fev. The important thing now is how we react, look at Manchester United, they lost at fulham about 8 matches ago and then won 7 on the trot from then. Thats what champion teams do.

Overall a poor day at the office but i'll still be there at Donny on Thursday hopefully watching my team bounce back.

It was nice to see Gibbo roll back the years and score a good try too.
