As far as im concerned, the season is over, our little run of form was more to do with the fixtures falling right.
Featherstone may slip up, but having beaten us twice, and not relying on the wonderful bonus point, I believe they will be deserved of 2nd and the money that goes with it, for a few years now they have been the team to beat, and Leigh deserve all the plaudits for a revival that would make Lazarus sit up.
I'm sorry to say this as I think the hardy souls that have stuck by the club deserve a little better than we have seen for a couple of years, but essentially the club is reaping what its sewn.
Unless we can find a coach who can improve players and over achieve, we're in for a tough few years.

Quote: Nat (Rugby_Aholic) "They do two audits, one half way through season, one after the season has finished. Featherstone have signed how many players since half way through the season? In fact, in Nabahoo's own words they were going to sign Gareth Carvel before the RFL warned them about the salary cap.'"

We have signed a few since mid season, but if you do your research a bit better, you'll see that we've also offloaded plenty too.

You do know that both Leigh and Featherstone were given dispensation to spend the extra £100k that the Championship rules allow, if you can demonstrate that you have the money.

Harrison can moan on all he likes, most people think he's a pretty poor coach. Not me though, I think he's great and I hope he stays at Halifax for many more years. icon_lol.gif

My Fax friends never cease to amaze me , its only a few days ago Big Karl was coaching the Leagues Form team icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif unbeaten in around 9 games ,and second spot virtually yours , however after Sundays defeat (Which Charlie predicted ), you are now demanding Karls head icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif Fev are a very good team , Fax are not a bad team either , why panic ?

I know Halifaxjohn and Bentleyman along with Dutchy will be hurting at the moment , but they wont lose faith , you have 2 winnable games to come , who knows what will occur in them , a wise man once said "Never change the way you lean towards the wind ", and I agree .

To be honest with you we dont deserve 2nd, I would be disappointed to see us get it as Harrison would be given a new deal and proceed to p1ss away the 450k on a couple of Batley rejects.

Without he bonus point god knows where we would be. so really we are fortunate that we have third barring a massive fev screw up. and that's the bad thing with the extra 450k he would let Fieldhouse leave and replace him with another forward

It there were no bonus points and a win gave you 2 points 1 for a draw we would be in 4th place, I think.

On games won/drawn, we'd be in 4th place and playing Doncaster next up for 3rd place. If the points deduction for Doncaster is upheld (they are appealing against the decision I think), then we'd be in 3rd, with the game with them still making 3rd place up for grabs (a draw would leave is in 3rd).

Are we being over critical of Rhino? We are third and before Sunday we were on a good unbeaten run....

I dont think we being overcritical, once again in a really important game we have been found wanting in the choice of tactics, team selection & adapting to circumstances on the pitch. As other have said i cant think of one player that has improved under KH,as much as i respected him as a player i feel that he has had long enough and its time for a change

The nature of sport is that if you fail as a coach time and time again then your time in the job will be up. Has KH failed? I would say yes, he has bought the players in and they cannot be Leigh or Fev and at times have been rubbish against the lower placed teams. Therefore, time to get a new coach.

Yeah but we were playing sides closer to the bottom of the table and let's not forget that if Batley would of converted there final try then we would of lost that game even though we were cruising it in the second half IMO

I have said on other posts that I am trying to be diplomatic, I wouldn't want to call for any one in any course of life to lose their job.
All I would say is that I believe the board have backed every signing that Karl wanted to make and after each season a lot of those Karl has shown the door.
Jones, great at Keighley, sign him, hardly play him got rid.
Reittie, signed from Karls old team in and out, got rid.
Thaks and Handforth, the dream pairing, got rid.
And many more.
O'h Peter Fox?
Felt sorry for him early on, never seemed to get a pass and then thought why doesn't he go looking for the ball
A SL player became available so Karl went for him, had he seen him play recently?
Not saying Karl has done a bad job, far too diplomatic for that.

I think it's time for a change. We have some decent players, but for some of them (such as Peter Fox), we're clearly not doing the right things.

On reflection, if we'd not been so inept in the first half last Sunday (or if Karl had plugged that gaping gap on our left wing after we were exposed first time), then it could have been a really tight, exciting, game of RL.

Back to the point, the exposure we had on the left wing should have been sorted as soon as we were 4-0 down. That's why we need a change.

So who do we want then?

No chance of Cooke, Morrison, or Chester now.

Cant see anyone wanting Kear so pretty light on options at the moment.

Probably Bobbie Goulding for mine, from one or two players i have talked to he commands the respect of his players and also seems to have this knack of not only getting the best out of them but also seems to improve them too. He seems to be able to encourage players rather than just lambast them which is a total contrast to KH's coaching style.
