Don't think it's that bad a draw. Maybe we could have drawn a National League side but it would only have been delaying the inevitable.

Cas away will be a good game and a money spinner. And who knows...

Quote: Fax4Life ", ours COULD be close if we have the same defence as in the Widnes games.'"

Cas will break that defence, we need to keep them off our line. and not give away repeat sets of 6 like we did vs Widnes.

There's other teams in our division who, given that many play the balls on our try line would scoe more points than Widnes did, Its important not to let them get there in the first place.

Quote: "Oldham are today awaiting news of the RFL’s draw for the fifth round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup, which is being made this afternoon at RAF Leeming in North Yorkshire.

But chief executive Chris Hamilton is not happy about the fact that club officials were not informed as to the arrangements.

“We wouldn’t even have known anything about when and where the draw was taking place if we hadn’t seen a story about it on the RFL website,” said Mr Hamilton.

“We are not sure either when and where the draw will be announced. We have been told to check on the RFL website, but we believe that is less than satisfactory for a last-16 draw in a competition as prestigious as the Carnegie Challenge Cup.”
'"

From the Oldham Chronicle. Fully Agree with what Chris Hamlilton says there.

He is actually expected to take Nigel Woods' when big nige leaves/explodes.

I'm pleased with this draw, not because I think it is an "home banker", more to the fact that I enjoy playing Fax. Good set of fans and always a good match when you guys come to town. Would have been happy had it been at The Shay personally, always a nice ground to visit.
As mentioned previously, we have improved somewhat on last year as our league position suggests, but so have you- any team with Ben Black, Shad Royston, Sean Penkywicz and a host of other top players will make sure we don't have an easy day. Keighley got in our faces in the first half and our guys didn't like it, so if you do the same for the full 80 minutes it could be a real tough match. I would hope home advantage will work in our favour, but you just never know in the CC.
All the best in the league, hope to see you all at The Jungle come May!

........... and the last round? Give your heads a little tap over this crappy conspiracy theory. I agree - it was shortsighted of the RFL not to broadcast the draw but to suggest that there's some great Machievellian scheme to fix the competition is ludicrous. It shows more of their stupidity rather than their cunning and guile in manipulating a competition draw. This is the Challenge Cup - not the multi-million pound Champions League.

Fixed or not, I couldn't care less.

Always a good day out, decent club, decent fans

.....And I sense a shock in the air!

However, The RFL are a shambles

I can't see it myself. Had it been at the Shay - then maybe a slim chance but no way on their ground. I just hope we can keep the score down and put in a respectable performance.

I fully expect to win, the CC is proabably top of our priorities now with how the draws are going, but i expect also for you to give us your all. I dont think by any means it will be a drubbing from us, but id expect to win comfortably and hope TM puts a strong team out because we'll need it.

its a good draw.. not a glamour draw but decent enough.. Should be a good crowd at cas, and will be a fun day out on the train with plenty of beers involved..
