| Quote: Bubba "The Council are moving more staff down to the Shay within the next couple of weeks. The stadium is now more used for non-sporting events than for football/rugby. There are other plans in the pipeline to be announced shortly which will further reduce the subsidy.'"
Good.
It could hardly have been used for less non sporting events and the council have been largely responsible or irresponsible for this.
It remains to be seen how much these other income streams will reduce the overheads by, there is a long way to go to get into the black and even if they did manage it, would it be reinvested in the ground?
It does not take long if something is not maintained before it starts to decay and their past performance and current "we will not be spending anymore money on it" still leaves room for a big doubt.

If you look deeper and linking the stadium and the Town, sporting wise it's a dark place at the moment.
Lets get through the next few weeks, have some sun come out and with a bit of grass on it and the pitch will be transformed as nature takes it's course but the stadium is starting to look a bit of a dump in places.
To put it all into context though like a fool I watched the news again and had a reminder of what is going on in the big wide world and realised that although[size I love my sport it is just a game[/size.'"
I love that bit, sport is just a game,
It doesn't affect our life.
We win, we lose, but tomorrow will be just the same

Come on you and we all know this is much more a Town fans thing than Fax fans big time, I know as I have a relative who wishes nothing more than for Fax to die altogether and guess what, he is a Town fan!
Take a look on the Town fans forum and compare to on here, I rest my case.
I agree with you though anyway.

Well obviously town fans are more bitter given the Crap thrown at them by fax in the past. Quite straight forward.

Nah I am a fan of both and I know like you do there is a simmering resentment towards the rugby club by a big chunk of Town fans from the days even before Fax moved down the Shay I can remember it back then I think it was petty jealousy as the rugby had always been more successful in its own sport compared to Town, but when the rugby moved in most Town fans felt they had been 'invaded' and still to this day despite the original Halifax Town AFC going bust and the new club starting plus the ground now being owned by the Council many Town fans still call Fax the 'egg chasing squatters' but hey you keep pinning this on the rugby that's up to you, not saying Fax have been squeaky clean in this but its just a fact a lot of Town fans hate Halifax RLFC, sad very sad and quite frankly I am sick of it we are all Halifax and many are fans of both clubs like me, I am more rugby these days I admit and some of this is down to some of the numpties at Town games in the South stand who even give Neil Aspin some stick when things don't go right like they did with Chris Wylder.

| Even the Courier in the report for last nights game is having ago, complaining that Sunday's game ruined the pitch.
How many home games have we played and how many have Wendy played.

I think the rutted furrows running the length of the pitch are where they laid the new soak away drainage pipes.

The tennancy agreement will be paid up and they will no longer be the councils tennants, they will be tennants for another party. Thats what I was told
Not sure who has told you that but that is not true.
The bidder who has enquired about the lease has done so on the understanding that FC Halifax Town are the only long term tenants at the Shay.
The offer submitted is in the hands of the respective legal departments over various issues but it is hoped that an agreement can be found (from both sides) within the next month or so.
The council will then be duty bound to give Halifax RLFC 28 days notice that they intend to cancel their contract due to being in arrears. The council are so keen to do the deal now that they are looking into options to keep the deal alive should the Rugby Club make full payments - which looks like at the moment requesting the Rugby Club pay a deposit on future rent, which will also be matched by the bidder in lue of the Football Club, with that money going towards pitch works.
The Council seem keen to make sure if Halifax RLFC do pay their owed rent they are told if they were to fall more than 3 months in arrears again then they will be out, no second chances, as the bidder will have the right to complete the current offer.
The current bidder has funds ready to transfer to complete the deal. Its a case of waiting on legal and seeing what response from the notice the council get from their next rent reminder and the 28 day notice
From the Town board.

OK. I don't know the guy so I can only go by the continuous strings of vicious bile which he comes out with. He never, ever comes out with anything constructive and manages to turn every thread, even those which are totally non-related, into a Fax bashing session. The boy is obsessed!
My point is that if this proposal is true, why would they provide him, or anyone else, with the details if it is at the discussion stage?

| No need to guess what would happen if it was the Fax board putting together a proposal like this.
Because it's FC Town you won't here a word raised in objection from them, no plethora of FOI's , no personal and family attacks no banner headline claims of "We saved the Shay as a prized community asset" and "The whole world should be grateful".
As I say, book mark this page it's says it all about the real intent from the extremists on the FC Town board and terraces.
They represent no one but themselves, it makes you want to puke.
