Hey we have made our apology and eaten humble pie so Sheffield have got what they wanted and more - compensation.
I accept we are in the wrong (on playing him not signing him) BUT what has got up our noses is the way your club have used it to undermine our club very publicly and went really OTT about it. Remember we did have an injury crisis and we did NOT play him in the league game. An agreement like that should either be outlawed in future or made legally binding but clear ALL GAMES and brought within the RFL rules made with the RFL members agreement.
I personally think they should be outlawed as if you let a player go you let him go or you make him stay, its one or the other. You cannot have your cake (money for him) and eat it (not letting him play against you).
I presume we could have just ignored this and told Sheffield to stuff it (would they have really wanted to pay legal costs to get the satisfaction?) but we have in my eyes redeemed the situation so lets all draw a line under this.
My pleasure will be beating Sheffield again next season like we did THREE TIMES this season.
