Still waiting on efl approval apparently so not completely over the line.
According to the meeting yesterday the sale has been agreed and would be irrelevant of EFL approval which is why a lot of Town fans are up in arms. I really thought Town would have had an EFL decision on the 3 team rule before supporting this, if not then their chairman has really sold the club down the river. As a side not on that Damien Clayton's wife on FB has said the EFL were happy with the football team having POT but with the Town chairman in total silence its hard to say for sure. Edit: It seems there is mention of waiting on EFL approval. I wonder how quick a decision would be made on that as pitch works would be starting in the summer.

| The Council don't legally need EFL approval to sell the Shay but will be under some pressure if they don't get it with the implications for FC Town.
Possible moves muted to allready have been taken are giving FC Town primacy of tenure for their home games and a minimum guaranteed period of tenancy?
What happens further down the road if the KD option gets over the line who knows but no one can blame the rugby club this time around.
The same question could be asked if the KD option wasn't available because CMBC, both clubs and the other option on the table had little to nothing as a alternative as once the Council decided to sell with the covenant restrictions in place on the estate no one else was interested.

I think KD came out quite early and said Town would have POT and he had no problem with that as its unlikely Hudds need those points to get their A grade. The length of the tenancy would be interesting for both teams as we already know KD's intention is to sell once the Giants move out.

| The compensation that fax will receive interests me, not just for the revenue lost by playing away but clayton during the forum specifically pointed to the orox /fraine bros who have the big flag in the west stand and said ' how will they be compensated 'its already been established a relationship between mike fraine and ken davy as regards the forget me not charity /platinum partners that statement/ relationship intrigues me .
Unfortunately after a couple of celebratory drinks I did post on the shaymen.net forum using a burner account but unsurprisingly was banned again by my nearest n dearest but the hoddie meltdown and flea blowing himself up with his own bomb was comedy gold.

The council spokeswoman mentioned Ken Davy would be willing to offer FC Town a minimum 10 year tenancy option if they required it.

| They're not a soccer club, they're a football club who are currently in a play-off position to get in the Football League.

They're a football club who due to the EFL's ground share rule that prohibits 3 teams playing at the same ground won't be allowed into the Football League should they win promotion either directly or through the playoff's, the EFL body can award a club special dispensation and have been approached to do so but at this time haven't replied and all the parties are waiting for their response before it's fully signed and sealed. What would happen if they EFL refuses and how this would affect the outcome is unknown and all we can do is wait and see until they respond.

| I cannot see why the EFL would complain, they have their ‘rules’ about ground sharing, and I see some logic in this, as it could become a free for all with multiple clubs sharing facilities, on the other side of the equation would they rather have a team playing in a run down stadium and let’s be honest the Shay is falling to bits, after its rebuild that never got finished, or a club with up to date facilities that ensure the safety of players and supporters? HMBC have made their stand on the ground clear, neither of the two clubs can afford to invest singularly, or jointly agree to a rebuild, therefore Mr.Davy’s offer is the only logical one on the table, The only ‘fly in the ointment’ if my reading of the facts as they have been published is the council selling the freehold, something they intimated they would not do to preserve the Shay as a sporting arena.
