First Keighley have no chance of SL in 2015 as the ground is nowhere near good enough. Secondly you need to build a team but Keighley have a squad older than what we had last year! Keighley have made some poor signings if the Chairman expects them to reach finals. Tadulala cant catch and is 34. March is another past it who only gives penalties away. Korkidas has done nothing for years. Jones is not good enough to lead a top Championship team around the field. Demetriou is 35 and past it. Cherryholme is a plodder who is an average Championship player. Obst is a Quality signing and possibly a better signing than Ben Fisher. Keighley may win on Boxing day-which is very much a trial game for Fax rather than putting the best 17 out. But over the season Keighley will finish 6th at best with that squad but likely will just miss out on the playoffs. Theres many good teams in the Championship and I think Keighley and especially the Chairman will be in for a shock at just how tough this League is.

There are season tickets still to be sold, shirts to sell and casual supporters to attract.
A win is important.

You are right but Fax will not be putting out the strongest team as Harrison has indicated he will give Gannon and the 2 lads from last years U23 team a run and see how they go. IF Keighley play their best 17 then they MAY win this game. But at the end of the day a Boxing day friendly doesnt really have any meaning at all for Coaches who mostly use it to see how fringe players and trialists a go to see how they go. And most fans accept that its not a serious game and not one to shed tears over if you lose.

Sorry, but if folk pay good money to turn up for the game, they should be treated to more than just a training run. The "we'll win by 20" comment should be enough to fire up the Fax players, but equally Rhino needs to put out a team that a) can entertain, and b) win

Support is based on success, and whilst there's no points on offer on Monday, every win helps to keep/gain a few speccies for the next game.

I thought it was a cracking run out by the Fax squad, some very promising things to look forward to this season. Our fitness levels looked far better than Cougars today.

I think most of us knew that.

The Keighley Chairman made some big claims prior to the game, shame no one took him on with a bet giving Keighley a 20 start, would have been easy money, would be nice for him to show now he his better than Des and not an egotistical chairman and make a donation to a local charity or similar, or is he going to have the coach in his office in the morning and send him packing?

I think our chairman just feels the need to fire up the fans. We know we won't be looking at superleague anytime soon, we'll settle for a competitive championship side and an increase in the gate for now!
The one thing we really need is more of the town getting behind the team. We know the ground's not up to scratch (apart from the bar!) but the chairman has to appear positive, can't blame him for that!

As I have said many times before, I like your bar and your chips are great.
I quite like your ground and I personally wish Keighley Cougars every success.
