A bit like when the current owners of FCHT tried to take over HTAFC, there must have been 100+ people who were 'shareholders' meaning gaining enough control became impossible.
You always have to question the intentions of someone who becomes a director of a sporting club such as HRLFC or FCHT. Even more so in FCHT case where the current owners of the club had no previous affiliation to Halifax Town. There are no major rewards i.e. an annual dividend, and neither club has any major asset with the stadium owned by the council - this is good in that it puts off potential asset strippers.
I believe it then comes down to 3 categories to what drives someone who wants to become a director; 1) ego, 2) love the sport and want a go at running a club (which is related to 1) ) or 3) they are already a supporter of the club. The latter category isnt necessarily good as it doesnt mean the person is capable of the leadership required and also peoples motives can change over time. For some reason people with a perfectly sound business brain can go on to be totally incompetent when it comes to running a professional sporting club.
As an outsider, I have always thought directorships at Fax have been dished out as 'jobs for the boys'. I think there have been 16 directors in 12 years. There has been no real stability which possibly reflects on the clubs development. Something new might be planned and implemented but it soon dies a death when someone else comes in for example.'"

I assume they cross reference the details of what director has resigned against what director was in position and ensure it was signed by someone with the authority to do so. |

They only know who was "in position" by looking at the appointment and resignation forms. There are no Annual Returns any more so there's nothing to cross reference. |
