| Quote: Bubba "Its a bit of a messy one given that the shares are split between 10 different people - nobody will ever appear or feel to have control. A bit like when the current owners of FCHT tried to take over HTAFC, there must have been 100+ people who were 'shareholders' meaning gaining enough control became impossible.
You always have to question the intentions of someone who becomes a director of a sporting club such as HRLFC or FCHT. Even more so in FCHT case where the current owners of the club had no previous affiliation to Halifax Town. There are no major rewards i.e. an annual dividend, and neither club has any major asset with the stadium owned by the council - this is good in that it puts off potential asset strippers.
I believe it then comes down to 3 categories to what drives someone who wants to become a director; 1) ego, 2) love the sport and want a go at running a club (which is related to 1) ) or 3) they are already a supporter of the club. The latter category isnt necessarily good as it doesnt mean the person is capable of the leadership required and also peoples motives can change over time. For some reason people with a perfectly sound business brain can go on to be totally incompetent when it comes to running a professional sporting club.
As an outsider, I have always thought directorships at Fax have been dished out as 'jobs for the boys'. I think there have been 16 directors in 12 years. There has been no real stability which possibly reflects on the clubs development. Something new might be planned and implemented but it soon dies a death when someone else comes in for example.'"

I assume they cross reference the details of what director has resigned against what director was in position and ensure it was signed by someone with the authority to do so.

Online filing is the same as online banking. Secured by passwords and available only to companies which have registered to use it.

Almost certainly not awaited as eagerly as Bradford's which I think are due a couple of months later...

Sure - well, almost. I doubt if you can draw £50 out of your online filing account.
But what's your point ?

They only know who was "in position" by looking at the appointment and resignation forms. There are no Annual Returns any more so there's nothing to cross reference.

It's quite simple to see who is "in position" by looking at the "people" section on Companies House website:
https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/comp ... 9/officers

My point is that 'someone from Cardiff' couldn't just send a form in saying a director has resigned for it to be actioned!

Yeah - but that's just a summary based on the forms they've received. Which may or may not reflect reality.

Well, you've misunderstood the reference to the bloke in Cardiff; which is where Companies House has their base these days, but never mind. It's not important.
Actually, you can do that and it does happen. Fraudsters file directors' appointment and resignation forms, take over the company, strip out the assets and disappear. It's far from unknown and Companies House have come up with a scheme called Protected Online Filing to counter it.
However, we're drifting away from the relevance of the thread........
