Not finishing off some of the first half moves was always going to come back and haunt us. They showed us up 2nd half with their clinical play and it could have been more. Certainly need to learn that we cannot score from every move and need to do the hard graft aswell. Saying that does not help playing ft team on a fri im sure they'll be difficult to beat for the rest of the part timers. Let's move on could be a blessing as some fans brought down to earth and see how we really are in reality.

Well that second half was disappointing. played out of our skins in the first, must've bombed at least 6 chances to score and went through the eagles defensive line at ease. But when you don't take your chances it usually comes back to bite you on this @rse. No complaints from me (apart from the ludicrous obstruction call for Maneelys disallowed try) the eagles deserved their win, they stepped up a gear in 2nd half and never looked like losing after scoring early on. Will have to wait until highlights come out as I didn't see anything at the ground the view was that poor

not too disheartened as tonights game could've been so different had one or two of those passes in the first half stuck. Gaz Moore looks sharp but murrells kicking needs improvement. I expect changes for Worky. UTFAX

I would not have been too disheartened with a one score difference but poor how the game fell away so quickly start of 2nd. We conceded predictable tries again also like the pass out the back to Worrincy surely we should have learned by now. Some moves will come off in time though like the short pass to Fairbank from Moore that will stick on another day. Smeaton replaced by heaton aswell would have been a better scenario. I'm sure we'll do the job on Workington but need to be better v Batley i'm confident it's a blip

Pretty much sums it up.

We should have taken our chances in the first half, hell if we take half of them we win the game. The obstruction try was a joke, the Sheffield player knew he wasnt getting there and saw the Fax player and made an embarrassing jump on him, luckily for him the ref bought it because it was a terrible read.

As has been mentioned it might give us a kick up the backside because as average as Sheffield looked in the first half they got the better of us easily after they got a couple of fortunate tries. Our right side defence obviously needs work as Smeaton, Murrell, and Salty got dominated in the 2nd half. Personally if I were Marshall I would give Moore and Johnson a go in the halfs with Murrell at 13, Johnson is wasted at full back and needs to be in the thick of it in attack.

Johnston defo looks better in the halves with Miles hopefully back at fullback in time thats were i'd like to see Ben play in the big games especially

Well I must say in a way I half expected this,it's deja vu from last season,we beat a weak Haven at Haven then it all went down hill till our end of season run,most thought we were invincible well we are NOT , I hope RM gives the lads the rocket they deserve,I hate saying this but Charlie the Clown was right some Coaches may have worked us out,Mr Aston certainly has.
I just hope this is a blip but I have a feeling we will beat the weaker sides and suffer to the stronger teams,I'm not going to panic though, my advice get back on the horse and be ready for next week,the baiting will start tomorrow,the Leighers will be creaming themselves, I can see The Tripster and Mr Beaumont now Laughing,what a difference a week makes.Anyway where's Jaspers lead..?

Got to say whilst I don't do predictions some people on here were getting ahead of themselves on this one, I always felt it would be close and a real 50/50 match going either way but I was wrong but for some to say we would beat Sheffield by the scores they put was just plain stupid!
