Cording was signed & sealed on monday, his best buddy is an apprentice where I work. The Fev fans who i regularly communicate with were duly informed by myself young JT, this signing went very much under the radar & the monies I've been quoted by my source are, if true, quite astonishing. I don't blame the lad.
So, what do we class as a "career move" ? I'd say, earn what the hell you can as quick as you can, stuff this playing as a squad member on poor pay with little gametime incentives, get that contract signed & bite that sugar daddy's hand off for your hometown club with the potential to be considered a local hero for a few years to come.

| So, are any other signings completed. If so, I do wish the club would announce them or are we going to have to put up with being drip fed as usual. I really don't see what is gained by this.

Doesn't entice sales of season tickets though. I'm still waiting for the "marquee" signing mentioned a few weeks ago.

Lol. I know it's Americanese, but it wasn't me who said it, I read it. "bums on seats signing" is how it's defined in American. Could do with one of those

I wish I could answer that one. I will buy my season ticket, I will buy my granddaughters season ticket. BUT. I have heard many that aren't.
Next season is one of the most important for many a year, we are making strides off the field, but gone backwards on it. It's on field that brings the fickle fans in, so something needs to be done.

We won a GF and the NRC and our attendances started to decline before this season. I've no idea why but it doesn't necessarily follow that success puts bums on seats.

Just to re-iterate many posts i've made previously. There are several reasons nowadays why i refuse to pay money upfront & purchase a season ticket, one of which is the awful fixture scheduling governed by a pot tv company who i now have to subscribe extra to on top of my sky subs. Fortunately this year the world cup games are also on that channel, & some other stuff that interested me such as the colleges game that i knew of a few lads who played in it, also the Aussie games.
There are many reasons why i'm personally not so committed to attending home games nowadays as in other interests & time restraints, but hey, call me one of the fickle ones if you like. The product on the field hasn't been either attractive to watch or entertaining enough for most of the time. If anyone is uncomfortable with my opinion or my missing £15 at the turnstiles i couldn't careless about it.
The product on the field has to improve either in terms of silverware or entertainment value.

| I have to agree Colin. There were perhaps 75%+ of the games I attended this year where I actually questioned what I was doing their bored out if my brain....
On tge pitch at times it was some of the worst 5 drives and kick rugby I've seen in a long long time. I certainly aren't rushing to purchase my season ticket and have said it a few times already..... Let's stop pussy footing around if we have signed players...!! Let's state our intentions and get the paying fan excited about what's coming, that's the only way to get people to part with cash.
I know marquee signings are hard to come by at this level but clubs manage it... Fev have signed a couple already in Cording and Jonah Lomu's love child!! If I were them I'd be pretty happy so far.
I'll give the new lads every chance and welcome them to Fax but so far it's not making me want to rush out and purchase anything. I'd call them safe signings rather than exciting....

Our promotion year saw our attendances drop quite considerably despite signing ' Tommy God ' from Saints
It is this particular subject that seems to cause ' discussion ' on our board when I point it out
Touchy lot at times us Leythers
Personally I would have only 1 instruction to my coach if I was a club owner
" At home I want attractive RL " simple as

| Look, I can understand, to some extent, KH wanting to stick with British players but quality players are just not available. I certainly don't subscribe to the "if he's an Aussie he must be a good RL player" philosophy but we have done pretty well over the years at bringing over virtual unknowns who have gone on to be impressive crowd pleasers. Those that immediately spring to mind are Gavin Clinch, Ben Black, Ben Fisher and Andrew Dunneman.
