I was at the same event, it was an open forum with 100 people in attendance and KH stood up and said he was paid nothing and he did it to give something back to the game. |

Was this during the 2009 season when he took over from Gary Thornton in an 'advisory' capacity? If so, he may have no been receiving any wage in that role. I can assure you that he has been paid the going rate for a part-time coach in both 2010 and 2011. If you really believe that any coach at this level does no get paid then you must be a bit dim. |

Had a look at the link you posted for the batley forum... It didn't really back your point up did it?
Perhaps Karl is looking for a wage.. He'l find one in Halifax.  |

No it was this year and if Karl stands up and tells a room full of people that he doesn't get paid then I believe him rather than think he's a bare faced liar, surely he's more integrity than that? |

I was also at the same event when Karl disclosed that he didnt get paid so why would he lie, and if its true all credit to him and to Batley for managing it. He also said that he was not actively pursuing Matt`s job, contrary to what some might believe.

Absolutely correct it is a FACT. or FACTOID, as you put it. As another poster has put, there was a period when he did it for 'expenses' after the Gary Thornton resignation. But he discovered he had his appetite back, and liked what was happening at the Mount, he decided to become a paid employee.
