Loving the hypocrisy of some.: |
|
| Quote: marillion man "All three coaching staff ?
Martin Hall isn't on the coaching staff, so that just leaves the other FOUR members, messrs Calland, Proctor, Ball & Gonzalez.....
Some folks have been criticising Calland for standing/sitting anywhere in the ground but the dugouts over the last year or so, now he spends two home games in the technical area to give it it's correct term and we have a different discussion thread on too many folks in that vacinity. Nice to know we're winning games again, no coach to blame, no ref-bagging, blah-blah-blah....'"
I wasnt criticising anyone. Just found it odd that the three werent sat together as they usually are. MC usually sits 'upstairs' I assume to get a good view of the patterns of play, etc.

Bally was still on the touchline with his headset on, so I would presume MH and Gonzo were still up high, viewing things and passing down info as usual.

67.5% of all statistics are made up: |
|
| I think you'd find that on Thursday that Martin Gonzalez was sitting at the back of the stand in radio contact with messrs Calland, Ball and Proctor.
In the technical area were also the four subs, Neil Cherryholme (who was 18th man and therefore responsible for the kicking tee) plus Nicola the physio and Dr Hills.
All of the above were listed on the teamsheet along with Dave Fleming, Phil Coventry and Ned Kelly who are there to do whatever is needed.
At various other times you may find Helen Smith and Beth popping in to check on injured players, strap them, apply ice etc.
RFL bye laws allow for the subs plus the head coach and the doctor plus eight other nominated persons to be in the technical area at any one time.
These people have to be named and nominated to the RFL before the start of the season.
It has been known for the commissioner to check names against the teamsheet and on Thursday he actually requested that people sit down so there are controls over who can be pitchside.
Hope that answers your question.

| i for one like the new stand, much much better views, its nice to be sat behind the dugouts again, thats were i used to sit at thrummers
Also good to be able to see the blue and whites of the players eyes as they come off, and give the ref a boo too!
Think that the new stand does need some atmosphere, that will come with time, people are getting sued to sitting there, finding there new seats, new places to sit, getting acostomed to new faces.
setteling in to a new seat takes some time!

| Hally in stands and In radio contact with Calland on sideline makes sense. But shouldn't Calland have the radio and Bally and Proctor run on to the pitch? Gonzarlez is the stats man so he shouldn't be on the radio.

| No. I think Bally should be in the stands, Ned and Cov run on the pitch, Flemmo and Gonzales have a radio each and Hall should be stats man but stand on the pitch too. Proctor can have the radio in the second half and stand behind the posts with Matt (who shouldn't have a radio).

| You're giving the radio to Proctor in the second half? Schoolboy error. What you want to do is give Cov the radio in the first half, he then chucks it to Gonzalez (momentum rule) in the first five minutes of the second half and then that leaves Hall & Calland free in the dugout to cut the up the oranges for the half time refreshments.
Keep it simple for God's sake

| I can see a new idea for the club shop. Similar to the headphones you get at Grand Finals where you can listen to the ref, I think we should offer the service of listen to the coaches walkie talkies!
Dragons Den idea if ever there was one!
