Quote: faxcar "I don't know about seeing the elbows going to the head but has anyone noticed since Leigh started to get a winning run how this has definitely gone to their head and they suddenly know everything about everything.

We didn't have this approach when Fev were the best side or from the Eagles when they won back to back GF's, respect for Leigh on the way down.

What goes around comes around and it usually doesn't take long.'"

so one of your players gets a 10 game ban, and you have a dig at the only unbeaten side in the championship.

Neil Hudgell, the Hull KR Chairman & Leading lawyer was recently fined £1000 after calling The RFL Match Review Panel "Unfit for Purpose".
Surely he could'nt have been referring to the same panel who today fined James Roby a whopping £300 after finding him guilty of a dangerous tackle.
And he certainly could'nt have been referring to the same panel who last week fined Jamie Peacock a mind boggling £300 after pleading guilty to repeatedly punching an opponent. The following day Mr Peacock discussed the incident live on BBC Television after being introduced to the viewers by Mark Chapman as "The Carl Froch of Superleague", ha ha ha.
Neither player was suspended.
Lesser players are not so leniently dealt with.
Lesser clubs are not so leniently dealt with.
As Gilbert & Sullivan wrote in The Mikado...."Let the punishment fit the crime"
It seems to me that The RFL think that the greatest crime of all is Not To Be In The Top Four Of Superleague

Maybe fax4life, I certainly am not counting our chickens yet either. It's been 10 years since we won a play off game and in that time came very very close to being in champ 1.
We are doing great this year in all aspects of club but long way to go yet to reach the aspirations our board is showing again.
Don't tar all fans and a whole club with a few wind up merchants nothing but respect for fev, fax and sheff for what they have done over last few years in this competition and I hope to see a few of us making inroads into the super league lot over net few years but it's going to be tough.

Given some of the bans handed out in the amateur game as well you may have a point there

We've never had many fans to give you that approach, to be honest. icon_wink.gif

YOU ARE ONE BITTER FOOL, BLESS YOU. Nothing to do with the ban, see my other posts on that score where I said Dane Manning deserves to get what the panel gives and I hope he learns from it.

It obvious to me that the Leigh supporters arrogance has suddenly appeared this year, when you were up against it even as recently as last year you were not like that and had a lot of support on the Fax forum.

As to being bitter, you couldn't be more wrong, what a rugby club does or doesn't do including my own has no bearing on what I am or achieve and your the one resorting to the insults which is hardly the intelligent approach is it and then changes it after the original has been quoted. icon_lol.gif

I don't care what Leigh do or don't do but don't come on with the big talk just because your team has won a few games. It doesn't make you a winner.

We obviously need better camera work at the Shay. Then perhaps the next time Sam Barlow smacks someone whilst being sent off he might get a stiffer sentence at the disciplinary panel. I'd buy a video camera just for Barlow. The Barlow Cam.

Time to move on folks. Its done and the decision has been made.

It was a bad un, and as been mentioned, just as bad as Newton and Cassidys tackle. I think Cassidy stayed on the pitch too because everything happened so quickly. All 3 tackles were bad, and just as bad as Les Boyds famous tackle which saw him being banned for some time in the 80's.

The you tube clip was unfortunately the wrong angle. The damage was done by Mannings right elbow, not the left. Jumping up to connect shows the intent. He didn't miss !!

Now the sense of reality is that you have lost a good second rower for 10 weeks as a result of being plain stupid. Why he started the second brawl after that tackle God knows. He was on a mission thats for sure.

I am also aware that he has a really poor disciplinary record. That wont help neither !

I think it is a toss of a coin on whether HRLFC actually support him or not. Its going to be an interesting few days for the Halifax board. I hope they do, and give him the help and support required to channel his agression in the correct way.

I hope to see Halifax play Leigh again this season, very entertaining rugby in both matches. Maybe with another style of reffing the teams can play to their potential. I hope the next match does not degenerate into a grudge match.

Will we appeal or will we just let it go as we seem to have done with Worrincy?

Another possibility is as below.

Stature wise Barlow is much taller and much bigger, Manning went in to put a big it on at some pace and when Barlow offloaded the collision was unavoidable, a split second before impact he raised his arms and body together as other rugby players have done but not had the bad outcome, if he hadn't have done it would most likely have been his upper head and Sams lower face and jaw that would have collided and that could have been even worse.

I don't necessarily agree that Manning intentionally went to make contact with Barlows head with his elbow or showed intent as you stated, for the whole event from Barlow offloading to Manning moving in and the impact is a couple of seconds at the most.

The officials closest to the incident didn't even respond until it kicked off, it was sighted as a shoulder charge which it wasn't and who knows what they would have done if play had continued.

The fighting is different he had lost it completely and on 2 or 3 separate occasions got involved to the point of going looking for someone to have a punch up with.

If it's time to move on please try and avoid signing off with a wise after he event judgmental comment that implies he deliberately meant it by intent because we don't know that, only Manning does.

He will serve his ban for 10 games and I fully expect the club to stand by him.

I believe Worrincy has appealed against his ban.
