| Quote: jeffvickers "Why was Saltonstall playing 2nd Team Rugby? The lad hasn't put a foot wrong all season. But Hey, Richard, it's ONLY lowly Swinton. Saltonstall and Saxton should play every week, barring injury.
MASSIVE coaching error that will now knock the attendances as there is only a mickey mouse cup to play for now. Season over. Part-time next season. May as well start offering extended contracts now BOD'"
You forgot to add lowly Swinton operating on just £150k central funding and oh and now only two wins away from lowly Halifax.
A few of your fans on here have been gracious in defeat ...accept it yesterday the Lions pace had your team all over the place often looking like rabbits in headlights. Fax will be ok they have some good quality players and you don't go to Fev and win on the back of being a bad side, just as we didn't come to Fax.

| D'ont think anyone will say that if we beat Lock Lane...
TBF i think it's justified frustration. The recruitment didnt match the talk or the cash reward and the result is what we have now.Top 4 is gone already IMO and if by chance we did get there we wouldn't be good enough like we weren,t last year with same squad in top form.

| We are still in with a Chance of top 4. Leigh and London look certs. But Batley have lost the last two and Bradford and Fev are hard going that great. Dewsbury and Sheffield are also not that good. We just cant afford to throw away any more points. Batley in a couple of weeks and Fev at Blackpool are massive games for me and will decide our fate. Things could and should be better but it's still all to play for. Sharp is struggling. But the team cost us the game not one Player. RM is still learning and will make mistakes. But we are in a much better way than with Harrison was coach!

Totally agree, there are more points to be lost by most of the teams around us we just need to get our heads screwed on after yesterday and start playing as we are capable.

Calm down, this is the most competitive league British RL has seen in decades. We didn't perform on the day and lost, doesn't mean the players became crap overnight.'"

| We have to trust Richard to get to the bottom of why when we were defending it was like the Monty Python School Masters V Pupils match. I don't remember seeing one defensive channel so obliterated since Chariots Vs Cordle.
I have no idea who sets the defensive patterns, whether we trust in the sliding defence and whether the lads organise as and when they see what's in front, but something went horribly wrong down one channel yesterday.
For me, it raised a few other things I'm sure the players and coaching staff will answer positively, very soon, on the field. Selection? Did we have our strongest side out? Did we underestimate the opposition? Did we go to sleep after 20 minutes? Do a couple of the players need to find their mojo ? (RL finds you out if your not up for the battle)
Swinton wanted it more, and if they had a goal kicker of even average ability, the game probably wouldn't have been as close as the final score suggested.
Does anyone know how Gareth Potts is doing, he was really showing form before his injury last season.
Anyway, Richard will sort it, I truly believe it, but yesterday was dreadful, you can't go through the motions in RL. The squad will hopefully have learned a very valuable lesson, and as torrid a time as Will had, none of them were sparkling.
P.s Well done to Swinton, my word they gave it everything, their fans should be proud, they play some good stuff too.

Can add that bit of zip and score a try out of nothing. Apart from B Johnson who can do that from yesterdays showing.'"
Got to agree and that is why Will is proving such a big disappointment as I have felt since we lost Rob Worrincy that we have not had a length of the field type player with speed and thought Will would be it, sadly not and I am baffled why?
We still need a paceman out wide who can also defend!
Going back to yesterday whilst we are all saying Swinton deserved their win and they did they were only in the game on the back of our errors come on we were 16-0 up and we knocked on (Ben Kaye yet again an unenforced error at dummy half) giving them some belief, we did it three times and all cost us a try plus a couple of stupid forward passes in our own half which we have done far too many times.
What shocked me was how they shifted the ball out wide and score 5 tries yet we try and they tackled our man whilst going to the line causing him to knock on, we rarely get an overlap and I am puzzled why when Swinton showed how it is done, especially that last try it was so easy !

Saltonstall needs to have a hard look at himself, it was his behaviour that caused him to be dropped from the squad. Everyone has been quick to blame Will Sharp but imo Saltonstall has more to answer for - he let Richard and the team down and needs to earn his shirt back.

| Hey, have I missed something. What's the story with Salty??
Re Will Sharp, we're just disappointed that he's not ripping teams apart like he did to us when he was playing for Fev. Then, he was a straightforward winger, and that's maybe what we should be using him as now?
