| Sam was probably just annoyed that they found out his correct address.

| Quote: griff1998 "To draw a conclusion from that, you'd need to know what the penalties were for. Standing a couple of inches offside or smacking somebody, for instance.'"
Hi Griff,
Our conceded penalties at Salford (just like theirs) were for the usual variety of 'offences' (Holding down, offside, not square, high tackle, and a bizarre obstruction when we played the ball with no dummy half)
Salford's referrals (like our individual one) were for dangerous tackles. Only one was proven - against Maitua.
Obviously, there is more to indiscipline than mere statistics - I merely used these, as have the 'experts' when condemning our 'indiscipline'.

| Don't know the guy and only spoke to him once in the Toulouse departures lounge, he was hammered, I was slightly intoxicated however I was never a fan.
He seemed to turn it on when he could be d and for every great bit of skill he'd come up with an error, a penalty or some sort of petulance. IMO he always seemed to have a chip on his shoulder and be a bit of a mood Hoover on the pitch.
I don't doubt for a second his natural ability but he wouldn't fit in to this Halifax TEAM. I haven't read the ins and outs of the legal side (not that interested) however I'm not surprised he's facing a second ban.

| Sentiments echoed. He won plenty of games for us but the sight of a club captain in club gear having to be carried through passport control and some of his behaviour on the plane was not impressive. Cracking player, daft sod.
Looked at the Barlow video too, he's no Roger Cooke is he, although they both looked well fed. None of us know exactly what went on apart from the UKAD guy and Sam but it doesn't look like either of them handled it well.
Some of the stuff on the VT is ridiculous on Penky, he's been caught, he's got form and at best had a year or two left playing. If he hasn't planned for a life after Rugby then he can only blame himself. The sports integrity is more important.

| A quick Technical note:
Some peptide supplements are legal, and work similarly to protein supplements to help the body recover from strenuous activity.
However, there are also a variety of peptides that encourage the body to release growth hormones, GHRP-6 being one. These type of peptides stimulate muscular growth with fewer side effects than anabolic steroids.
They are sold either as a cream or in a solution for injection.
Peptides are also used in combination with anabolic steroids to maintain muscle gains.
From an anti-doping perspective, the ability to detect the use of growth hormone releasing peptides is complex, as the substances are rapidly metabolised, however new tests have been developed in the last year. But... These new-age drugs are very difficult to pick up through testing. So the use of coercive powers by investigators, such as calling on witnesses is usually the only way to prove illegal useGrowth hormone releasing peptides are prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
In 2005 the ban was for using Stanozolol an anabolic steroids commonly used as performance enhancing drugs and is banned from use in sports competition under the auspices of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and WADA. This was the drug overused by the sprinter Ben Johnson.

| As I said, it's not easy and my sympathies go to anyone accidentally caught out.
It's a lot harder than keeping under the drink/drive limit.
