Quote: Mr Jagger "Although I agree the score did flatter Widnes,I think the Vikings looked very comfortable in containing us,our trouble is we don't score enough tries ,they say defences ein matches but we must start to score , I think we will win 2 games in the 8's ,not enough though and let's score some tries, I'm not fond of Leigh as a Club , but I like the way the play, cmon RM let's start to attack more , there's not much wrong with our defence .'"
Despite finishing fourth we had the third best points for, the third best points against and therefore the third best points difference.
I do not see us as a side who can not score tries, until Sunday nine wins on the trot, playing the full 80 minutes, thank you Steve Tyrer, beating at the time three of the teams that were above us and one easily, that would have gone above us.
I can't say when the last side we were nilled at home (bentlyman please help) but all I would say that on Sunday once again our defence was superb and if Widnes had not held down in that tackle and their defence had not been equally as good then we would have had at least three tries.
If's and buts don't count I know however I see no indication that suggests throughout the season we are a team that doesn't score tries.
Norman Bates is correct, dropping a defensive forward would leave gaps, and which one would be dropped.
Most of us prefer Salty at fullback and Ben at half back and indeed have often voiced our opinion where Scott is better employed but, I believe we have to accept that Richard has limited resources and has turned an under per
orming team into an attack minded one.
Simply my humble opinion.
